Job Description

The GVH Canada Quality Manager is responsible for the executing the GVH Quality Assurance Program for GVH Canada office and Canada New Nuclear The GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) Canada Quality Manager is responsible for the executing the Quality Assurance Program for GVH Canada office and Canada New Nuclear Projects. This will include interacting with customers, regulatory agencies, partners, as well as GVH Advanced Nuclear organizations to ensure project activities meet quality requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for the onsite and offsite quality activities for Canada Advanced Nuclear Projects, including the evaluation of activities for compliance to regulatory, customer, and GVH internal requirements. As the GVH Canada Quality Manager, you will:

  • Lead Quality activities for Canadian projects and represent GVH as the main point of contact for GVH Quality organizations, interface between customer and internal partners, lead customer quality meetings, and site representation
  • Develop and implement quality assurance program for Canadian projects to support an integrated project delivery model.
  • Be responsible for the creation and implementation of project quality control plans and procedures for associated activities
  • Provide training and mentorship to individuals in quality related activities
  • Lead the execution of project oversight program including the performance of surveillances, coordinating internal and external audits, performance of root cause analyses and non-conformance assessments
  • Apply quality and technical knowledge, best practices, lessons learned, and practical experience to the analysis, investigation, and solution of complex problems
  • Review condition reports, audits, self-assessment reports and KPI information to identify trends and develop recommendations for performance improvement
  • Support future error prevention through the use of the corrective actions process

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in science, engineering or technical discipline from an accredited college or university, and 5 years of experience in project management/project leadership in large, complex projects providing quality guidance and direction to contributing functions (energy sector preferred).
  • OR and Associates Degree in science, engineering or technical discipline from an accredited college or university, and 7 years of experience in project management/project leadership in large, complex projects providing quality guidance and direction to contributing functions (energy sector preferred).

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to work in Oshawa 5 days a week.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to other GVH/GEV, customer and supplier facilities/sites


Desired Characteristics:

  • 7 years of related professional work experience in a nuclear quality assurance related capacity
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, CSA N286-12, CSA N299, CSA N285 and other Canadian nuclear related standards
  • Knowledge of nuclear Industry technologies (commercial light water, advance and small modular reactors)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership at customer and/or regulatory organizations
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to create technical reports suitable for a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment

The base pay range for this position is $140,200 - 190,200.00 CAD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​
