The Gun Range Reservation Specialist is responsible for managing customer reservations, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring efficient scheduling operations for the shooting range. This position serves as the primary point of contact for guests seeking lane reservations, memberships, classes, and event bookings. The specialist maintains accurate scheduling records, processes payments, answers customer inquiries, and supports a safe, organized, and professional range environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process daily shooting lane reservations, cancellations, and scheduling changes using reservation software and phone systems, which will include a two (2) year calendar, while providing professional and courteous customer service.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding range availability, memberships, classes, and special events.
  • Process payments, memberships, waivers, and related transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, reservation logs, and scheduling documentation.
  • Coordinate with range safety officers and staff to ensure smooth customer flow and operational efficiency.
  • Explain range policies, procedures, and safety requirements to customers prior to reservation confirmation.
  • Assist customers with questions regarding firearms classes, training opportunities, memberships, and range services.
  • Monitor reservation schedules to maximize lane utilization and minimize scheduling conflicts.
  • Verify customer eligibility requirements, waivers, and identification in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Support special events, tournaments, group bookings, and training sessions as assigned.
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve scheduling or service issues in a professional manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and customer service area.
  • Prepare daily reports related to reservations, payments, memberships, and customer activity.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • In case of emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.) position is required to respond/perform emergency and recovery duties as assigned by the County Manager or designee.
  • During an emergency or crisis situation, this position will may be required to be present at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to provide assistance while activated.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service, scheduling, reservations, or administrative support experience.
  • Knowledge of firearm terminology, outdoor range operations, and firearms safety procedures is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Any combination of education and experience may be substituted, so long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Supplemental Information

Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work efficiently, prioritize tasks and multi-task.

Ability to work as a member of a team and collaborate with others outside the venue.

Ability to remain calm and professional when addressing customer concerns, enforcing range policies, or responding to operational issues.

Working Environment and Physical Demands

Position may require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods while assisting customers and monitoring reservations.

Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of supplies, equipment, or materials up to 25 pounds may be required.

The position functions frequently in an outdoor environment and is subject to outside environmental conditions, including inclement weather, extreme temperatures and humidity, pollution and dust.

Position requires regular exposure to loud noise levels, firearm discharge, dust, and outdoor environmental conditions.

Noise level is HIGH.
