Job Description

At Zurich Capability Center, we are looking for a:

Guidewire Developer

We are seeking a Guidewire Developer with hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and developing within Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter. This role focuses on technical execution, configuration, integrations, and delivering high‑quality solutions following industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Guidewire Development & Configuration

  • Configure and customize Guidewire modules (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter) based on business requirements.
  • Develop business rules, screens, validations, and workflows using GOSU and Guidewire Studio.
  • Update and maintain data models, including entities, typelists, and attributes.

Integrations

  • Build and maintain integrations with external systems using:
    • SOAP and REST Web Services
    • JMS Messaging
    • Batch Processes
  • Develop connectors, endpoints, transformations, and error-handling logic.

Quality Assurance

  • Perform unit testing and support integration and system testing efforts.
  • Troubleshoot defects, document solutions, and collaborate with QA teams for validation.

Collaboration & SDLC Participation

  • Work closely with Business Analysts, QA, and fellow developers to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow development standards and best practices.
  • Provide effort estimations and assist in impact analysis for enhancements or fixes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Guidewire Developer in PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter.
  • Strong knowledge of GOSU, Java, and XML.
  • Experience with SOAP/REST integrations and messaging technologies.
  • Familiarity with SDLC processes and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to read and write technical documentation in English.
  • Provide workload estimations, define work packages, and support planning, delivery, and release management.

Coordinate activities across onshore and offshore teams to ensure smooth execution and alignment.

  • Quality Assurance
  • Oversee unit testing, integration testing, and quality validation efforts.
  • Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with implementation standards.

Validate deliverables to ensure compliance with business requirements and technical specifications.

  • Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Guidewire InsuranceSuite
  • Handson experience with implementations and upgrades of PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter
  • Strong background in Java, API development, integration frameworks, and insurance domain processes.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and managing cross functional project stakeholders.functional project stakeholders.

Strong communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish a plus.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Guidewire Certifications (e.g., Ace ClaimCenter Configuration, Specialist PolicyCenter Configuration, Integration Certifications).
  • Experience with cloud integrations (e.g., AWS, third-party rating engines, external policy/claims systems).party rating engines, external policy/claims systems).

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern development practices.
