Requirements

The Guidewire Business Analyst (BA) plays a critical role in bridging business needs with system capabilities within the Guidewire platform This role focuses on requirements discovery, process analysis, and solution delivery support, working closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure Guidewire solutions are effectively configured and enhanced to meet organisational objectives.

The position requires strong insurance domain expertise, hands‑on Guidewire experience, and the ability to operate effectively across Agile and traditional delivery environments, supporting transformation initiatives across claims, policy, billing, or related operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Analysis

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the Guidewire platform and associated business workflows, including claims, policy, billing, investigations, and reporting.
  • Engage business and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyse, document, and validate business and functional requirements
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable specifications to support Guidewire configuration, enhancements, customisations, and system integrations.
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality business analysis artefacts, including BRDs, FRDs, epics, user stories, process flows, data definitions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform current‑state and future‑state analysis, identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with solution architects, developers, vendors, and Guidewire implementation partners to support solution design and delivery.

Testing & Implementation Support

  • Define UAT strategies, test scenarios, and test cases aligned to documented requirements.
  • Support UAT execution, including defect triage, clarification of requirements, and business sign‑off.
  • Assist with change impact analysis, training inputs, and business readiness activities to ensure smooth implementation and adoption.

Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery Support

  • Facilitate workshops, design sessions, backlog refinement, and requirement walkthroughs
  • Partner with Product Owners, delivery teams, and business leads to ensure alignment across scope, priorities, and outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business users, providing guidance on optimising Guidewire capabilities to support operational and strategic goals.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst delivering technology or platform‑based initiatives.
  • Hands‑on experience with Guidewire (implementation, enhancement, or production support).
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations, including claims, policy administration, or billing (cyber insurance exposure desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality analysis and delivery documentation
  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
