
Louisiana Key Academy is a mission-driven, tuition-free public charter school specializing in evidence-based instruction for students with dyslexia. The Guest Teacher (Substitute Teacher) is responsible for maintaining continuity of instruction in the regular classroom teacher's absence. Guest Teachers ensure a safe, structured, and productive learning environment while implementing lesson plans and upholding Louisiana Key Academy’s expectations for student behavior, engagement, and academic focus. This role requires strong classroom management, professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff.
Schedule: Monday–Friday (schedule aligns to local school district calendar). Assignments may vary based on campus needs

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Experience: Prior experience working with students or in an educational setting preferred
Certification: Teaching certification not required

LKA serves the 1 in 5 children with Dyslexia in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. Our teachers are trained to teach students with dyslexia to read and write as fluently and as close to grade level as possible. LKA teaches students math reasoning and provides hands on experiences in Science, Social Studies, Art, Drama, Engineering, and Physical Education.
