Overview

The Guest Service Specialist (GSS) under the direction of the Patient Experience Department, functions as a liaison between patients, families, visitors, and staff to facilitate the highest level of patient satisfaction.

The GSS creates:

• A positive impression through high quality engagement, assistance, proactive rounding, and customer service recovery.
• Orients and supports patients/families regarding hospital environment, amenities, and resources.

This position is responsible for providing guests with patient and UF Health information, wayfinding, securing transportation, and knowledge of local lodging and amenities. The GSS supports the lost and found process, provides valet vouchers, and ensures a safe and clean environment. Proactively facilitates communication and problem resolution between unit staff, other departments, and the patient/family.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• Associate degree preferred, or a minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience in a healthcare or related service industry.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer use and the ability to learn and utilize applicable computer systems.
• Strong results-oriented approach with the ability to teach and train others effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Must successfully pass an FBI Level 2 background screening as required for this position.
