Job Description

The Guest Room Attendant works as part of the housekeeping team at the hotel. Job duties involve cleaning up to 15 guest rooms per day.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cleaning up to 15 credits during assigned shift including but not limited to make beds, change bed linen in between guest stays, remove and replace towels and toiletries, dusting furniture, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing bathrooms and hard surfaces, and kitchenettes.

  • Clean and maintain work areas.

  • Complete special projects assigned by floor supervisor and or management.

  • Offer the hotel guest the best possible service in a courteous and hospitable manner, having knowledge of the hotel, hotel staff and services including hours of operation, and guestrooms including location, views, amenities, knowledge of the surrounding area.

  • Report any damages or repairs and maintenance needed to the supervisor.

  • Report all lost & found items to supervisor.

  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Six months to one-year previous experience as a guest room attendant is preferred.

  • Minimum one-year customer service experience preferred with ability to provide courteous friendly and efficient service to all guests every time is required.

  • Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work well as a team.

  • Must always conduct self in a professional manner.

  • Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to all departmental and company policies.

  • Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.

  • Must be dressed in issued uniform while on the clock.

  • Must present a contemporary professional image in compliance with appearance guidelines, as set in the Team Member Handbook policies and procedures.

Physical Demands:

  • Works inside assigned area of the hotel.

  • Must be able to use elevators frequently and work in a high-rise tower.

  • Must be able to push up to 150 pound cart.

  • Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise lift objects and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Tolerate cleaning chemicals and processes.

  • Utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, masks, eye googles.
