Reporting to the Supervisor, Guest Experience & Ticket Operations, the Guest Experience and Ticket Operations Representative (GE&T Rep) plays a key role in ensuring high-quality service at the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL). This position involves greeting guests, addressing ticketing needs, scanning tickets, providing directions, managing coat check duties, and upholding venue policies in a friendly and professional manner.

The Representative must maintain a welcoming environment, ensure guest safety, and handle multiple concerns with both professionalism and empathy. REAL will equip all GE&T Reps with tools they need to develop a strong working knowledge of all ticketing facets and venue details—including event schedules, food and beverage locations, Box Office locations, suite holder entrances, parking services, security, and first aid—is essential. The ability to escalate concerns appropriately and report issues effectively is also crucial.

Conducting outstanding customer service to patrons by:

  • Being able to read tickets and have a firm grasp of the layout of each of REALs ticketed venues
  • Greet, thank and monitor the movement of guests in assigned areas within the venue to ensure guest safety and compliance with building policy.
  • Anticipate guest needs and concerns; be proactive in recognizing ways to make a moment
  • Proactively assist patrons with wayfinding, ticket relocations, upgrades and event questions and concerns; never leaving a question unanswered but rather working proactively to find solutions that best meet their needs.
  • Take ownership of a guest’s issue and follow it until completion
  • Monitor accessible seating to ensure guests seating areas are not infringed upon.
  • Remain visible and available to provide superior service for event attendees in various locations.
  • Keep all assigned work areas and equipment clean and tidy for best first impressions.
  • Work closely with various teams, including Security, First Aid and Event Supervisors, to provide quick and responsive service.
  • Be willing to respond to all issues in your assigned area and request additional assistance as necessary.

Keen knowledge of Events and Venue procedures:

  • Obtain and have a working knowledge of all Guest Experience and Ticket Operations procedures and directives that pertain to each event.
  • Provide ticket and product service sales/support and assist with guests purchasing decisions by recommending products that best meet their needs, whether it be in person, inbound calls, for such services as:
  • Event Ticket Sales
  • Bag Check Services
  • Coach Check Services
  • Event Merchandise Sales
  • Wheelchair & Stroller Rentals
  • Take care of all equipment and materials provided
  • Reconcile all monies received through sales transactions, when necessary

Inspect areas for safety hazards and report issues and mitigate by:

  • Conduct work area walks before, throughout, and following each event for any irregularities or problems in assigned area.
  • Report pertinent safety information to the Supervisor, Security or OHS accordingly.
  • Proactively monitor designated areas throughout the venue to ensure guests’ safety and enjoyment of the event.

**Presenting services in a professional, respectful and positive manner at all times when interacting with internal and external customers.

**This is a Casual position, hours are not guaranteed and will be scheduled according to the needs of the business**

Wage: $15.58 -$17.72

Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Customer Service, Ticketing, or Hospitality experience is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills is required
  • Previous experience working with ticketing systems is an asset
  • Previous cash and credit card handling experience is an asset.
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours (weekends, evenings, etc).
  • Bilingual is considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess excellent verbal and interpersonal skills and diplomacy with the public.
  • Strong observational skills to proactively identify guest needs, have full knowledge of all policies, services and facility locations (staff will be trained in these areas).
  • Contribute to a high energy, fast paced environment that provides guests with an entertaining, fun and dynamic experience.
  • Ability to proactively handle emergency and high stress situations while remaining calm and collected under pressure.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and solve problems.
  • Interact with a diverse group of guests in a friendly and positive manner creating an environment of inclusion
  • Consistently perform at an elevated level of service and use competent judgment
  • Possession of a valid CPR & First Aid certification card is an asset.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
  • Note that this position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement.
