ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office is Florida’s award-winning, state-funded child advocacy organization that provides independent legal representation to abused, abandoned and neglected children in Florida’s dependency court proceedings. The Office upholds the highest standards of integrity, excellence and child centered representation. The Office assigns a multi-disciplinary team which is comprised of a guardian ad litem attorney, a child welfare professional, and hopefully a community volunteer or pro bono attorney, to represent each child the Office is court appointed to. ABOUT THE WORK

This is professional work monitoring and supporting enterprise network systems. Duties and responsibilities include using Guardian ad Litems (GAL) agency information technology guidelines for implementing the Office’s policies, processes and audit standards for major areas of technology. The Enterprise Network Systems Analyst provides daily departmental assistance to enhance and design central infrastructure and to assist the end user with daily operational issues.

The Network Systems Analyst will be responsible for updates and tuning in-house computer systems, designated data center systems and network connectivity to support the core operations of the Guardian ad Litem Office. The Enterprise Network Systems Analyst will utilize project management skills using communication, analytical and problem-solving to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in Enterprise class servers and networks in order to maximize the benefits of the IT initiatives. The incumbent manages Windows, UNIX and other hardware and software based operating systems to support host applications and will also manage and support the agency’s Azure cloud environment, including configuration, monitoring, and optimization of Azure resources and services. Provides technical assistance to department staff, interacts professionally with all internal and external customers.

The Enterprise Network Systems Analyst coordinates the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software and OS. Assists in the deployment of GAL workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems and host security systems. May consult with users and office management to determine user needs and how to achieve them. Provides system and network solutions to meet user requirements, and designs and configures enterprise environments with appropriate hardware, operating systems software, applications software, and communications component to support business requirements. Ensures connectivity between State of Florida networks and Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office and its end users.

The incumbent may perform asset management, documentation, incident reporting and related documentation reports required by department. The Enterprise Network Systems Analyst may recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and / or purchases or coordinate those items with the designated State Data Center.

ABOUT THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.

Associate of Science Degree in the field of computer science or information technology and 6 years of related experience; or a bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or information technology and 4 years of related experience; or a master's degree in the field of computer science or information technology and 2 years of related experience.

ABOUT THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of implementing and supporting a distributed IT environment . Knowledge of, and experience with, Citrix or Microsoft Azure software products for remotely accessing desktops, applications and networks. The incumbent should also have experience managing and supporting Azure cloud resources, including configuring, monitoring, and optimizing Azure services.

Knowledge of an enterprise computing environment. Current working knowledge of Florida's Service Center approach to hosted server environments is desirable.

Knowledge of network industry standards.

Knowledge of network troubleshooting and help desk management to maximize the user experience.

Knowledge of Data Base Design and Management (SQL), and web development techniques

Ability to analyze and interpret computer related data and resolve system production problems

Ability to communicate technical information effectively to users and mangement in language they can understand.

Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
