General Position Statement:
The Guaranteed Lending Representative is responsible for packaging and processing loan applications for guaranteed lending programs. This role involves working closely with lenders/loan administrators to gather necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with government guarantee requirements, and facilitating the loan approval process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Loan Packaging and Processing - Assist lenders/loan administrators in completing loan applications for government guarantee programs such as SBA, USDA, and other federal and state programs. Gather and review all necessary documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy. Prepare loan packages for submission government agencies, while adhering to eligibility requirements and underwriting criteria.
• Relationship Management - Serve as the primary point of contact for lenders/loan administrators throughout the loan application process. Provide guidance and support to lenders/loan administrators, helping them understand program requirements and benefits. Maintain strong relationships with lenders/loan administrators to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Maintain strong relationships with external resources such as vendors and governmental agencies to ensure a positive rapport.
• Compliance and Documentation - Ensure all loan applications comply with government regulations and internal policies. Maintain accurate and organized records of all loan documentation. Conduct regular reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with program requirements.
• Coordination and Communication - Coordinate with internal departments, such as credit, legal, loan operations, etc., to facilitate the loan approval process. Communicate regularly with lenders/loan administrators to provide updates on the status of their applications. Demonstrate the ability to critically think, formulate and support credit decisions, and logically defend positions. Work closely with government agencies to ensure timely processing and approval of loan applications.
• Reporting and Analysis - Prepare regular reports on loan application activities, status, and outcomes. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in the loan packaging process. Provide insights and recommendations to the guaranteed lending team.
• Team Collaboration - Collaborate with the guaranteed lending team to achieve lending goals and objectives. Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions. Provide support and assistance to team members as needed. Responsible for ongoing training and/or education opportunities to continue growth within job role.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including, but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act: Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Completes required compliance training and adheres to the Bank’s standard of conduct.
• Participates in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
• Make referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lending or financial services role, with a focus on loan packaging preferred.
• Knowledge of government guarantee programs such as SBA and USDA is a plus.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Driving, and occasional travel, as needed for business purpose
• Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
