Our teams of experienced, multi-cultural professionals help guide businesses and community members on both sides of the Pacific looking to explore new markets and create new opportunities, and our sustained growth and expertise in industries like real estate, entertainment and media, private equity and venture capital, and high-tech help build sustainable businesses and expand our associates’ potential for career advancement.

Headquartered in California, East West Bank (Nasdaq: EWBC) is a top-performing commercial bank with a strong foundation, an enterprising spirit and a commitment to absolute integrity. East West Bank gives people the confidence to reach further.

We are seeking a strategic and execution‑focused Payments Product Manager to drive the development, enhancement, and commercialization of our treasury and payments products. This role focuses on cross‑border and domestic payment capabilities and requires deep knowledge of payments ecosystems, strong product discipline, and the ability to collaborate across a global, matrixed environment.

You will own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for assigned payment products and features, ensuring they meet evolving client needs, regulatory expectations, and market trends.

Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the full product management lifecycle—including ideation, market research, requirements, backlog prioritization, and launch—for assigned payment products.
  • Develop product roadmaps based on client feedback, competitive analysis, and industry evolution.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (Technology, Operations, Sales, Compliance, Risk, Finance) to deliver scalable, competitive solutions.
  • Develop pricing recommendations, cost models, and business cases to support investment decisions.
  • Monitor product performance, KPIs, and revenue trends; recommend optimization strategies.
  • Support go‑to‑market execution, including client pilots, training materials, marketing input, and partner engagement.

Payments Expertise

  • Manage enhancements and execution for cross‑border payment rails (SWIFT, SEPA, low‑value payments) and domestic payment schemes (ACH, wires, RTP).
  • Support integration of FX, reconciliation, reporting, and API‑based capabilities as part of product requirements.

Execution & Project Delivery

  • Write user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria; partner with technology teams through sprint planning and delivery.
  • Support project and program governance, including risk assessments, compliance reviews, and product‑approval documentation.
  • Track progress and surface risks or dependencies to leadership.
  • Monitor regulatory changes (ISO 20022, PSD2/PSD3, sanctions, AML/KYC) and industry innovations to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and identify opportunities for product differentiation.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external vendors / fintechs to enhance payment capabilities.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in payments, cash management, or treasury product management.
  • Proven experience with domestic and cross‑border payment schemes, payment operations, and bank‑to‑bank connectivity.
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and Agile practices; ability to convert client and business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Experience with pricing, financial modeling, cost analysis, and business case development.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills; able to influence without authority.
  • Experience in a global, matrixed financial institution; familiarity with compliance, sanctions, and fraud‑risk frameworks preferred.
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or equivalent preferred but not required.

Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States. We do not offer visa sponsorship at this time.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $220,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
