Job Description

Alternatively, Grant Thornton

At Grant Thornton we do things differently - looking to the future, driving ambitious growth and pioneering positive change in our industry. Providing audit, tax and advisory services, we empower clients through strategic insight, curiosity, and genuine partnership. And we empower our people with real opportunity, an inclusive culture and work life balance. A true alternative.

With over 5,000 people in the UK, and a presence in 150 global markets, we're on an ambitious journey, from great to exceptional, and we need the best people to help us achieve our potential. And with that comes the opportunity to help redefine what our industry looks like, and what you want from your career.

Strategy linkage:

  • Work very closely with the two large platforms, taking their technology strategies as the foundation, and adapt them to create a global technology strategy that benefits the non-platform firms to ensure consistency and interoperability across the network.
  • Create an environment where sharing of intellectual property from platform firms to the rest of the network becomes possible, including creating standards and strategies around deployment of technology to non-platform firms, ongoing structures to support the technology of non-platform firms, cost sharing principles, technical environments that allow for sharing, etc. with the goal to deliver capabilities to non-platform firms at speed and at the lowest implementation and support cost possible.
  • Horizon scanning of new potential technologies and off-the-shelf software solutions
  • Lead on supporting smaller sized network firms in developing their Digital & Technology strategies (as the two platform technologies may be too large in scale / costly for these kinds of firms)

Operations:

  • Serve as product owner for GTI-owned technology platforms and global systems with a focus on rapid delivery, iterative improvements and customer-centric design. Continuously look for opportunities to reduce cost by leveraging resources in lower cost locations and use AI to build and support technology solutions where feasible.
  • Ensure GTI platforms complement and extend platform firm solutions, avoiding duplication and accelerating interoperability.
  • Establish agile engineering standards and transparent roadmaps that reflect platform firm priorities and enable fast adaptation for non-platform firms.
  • Build a high-performing, agile global technology organization that values customer-first thinking, speed, transparency and open communication - prioritizing quick wins and iterative delivery over lengthy programs.
  • Foster: a culture of collaboration with platform firms, continuous improvement, high quality, and transparency across the network.
  • Manage the global technology budget in a transparent way, continuously looking for opportunities to manage costs while improving speed and quality, and making well-informed financial decisions that have the support of the largest firms.

Compliance:

  • Manage GTIL’s technology governance with a commitment to speed, clarity, and transparency including:
  • Ensuring decisions reflect platform firm direction and network-wide priorities
  • Facilitating collaboration and resolution of differences between the platform firms and with non-platform firms
  • Working with legal and the firms to address licensing, data residency, and
  • support obligations for IP shared to non-platform firms
  • Communicating with GTIL leadership, the governing board and its relevant committees
  • Publish real-time dashboards for KPIs and OKRs to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
