Job Description

The Project Manager-GT is responsible for managing and delivering DYWIDAG’s Geotechnical projects in
a safe, efficient, and quality manner. This shall be accomplished by utilizing your technical competence
and acumen along with strong communication capabilities to deliver projects on time and budget.
Results shall be measured in the form of safe, profitable work, ensuring contractual obligations are met
and customer satisfaction is achieved. The work performed will include fabrication and supply of
DYWIDAG’s geotechnical products and services. Most products and services are supplied for heavy civil
and commercial infrastructure markets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work collaboratively with the Geotechnical team to ensure clear accountability and
    coordinated approach is in place for all clients and internal teams resulting in a plan that
    meets or exceeds the established budget on any given project.
  • Provide courteous customer service and responding promptly to requests.
  • Build strong relationship with external clients, customers, engineers, vendors, and operational
    team members.
  • Lead, manage, coordinate, and direct any assigned project.
  • Manage the financial aspects of all assigned projects to ensure they meet or exceed budget
    expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Coordinator to ensure proper Job Progress Report (JPR)
    management on regular basis and to facilitate monthly financial reporting.
  • Continuous hands-on understanding of the DYWIDAG target market and competitor landscape,
    identifying risks and opportunities through talking to clients during project execution.
  • Attend industry functions such as conferences and exhibitions when needed.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement project handoff and operational plans for assigned
    projects.
  • Review manufacturing drawings and instructions.
  • Coordination of customer’s equipment needs with the equipment department.
  • Seek opportunities to improve efficiency and contribute to overall success of the company.
  • Work with Production Staff on Quality Control, acceptability of parts substitutions,
    manufacturing tolerances for systems and applications, production capabilities,
    manufacturing schedules, and production costs.
  • Work collaboratively with the designated GT marketing partner to assist with marketing
    campaigns, collateral, project reports, social media postings, etc. as needed.
  • Maintain up to date, in depth knowledge of DYWIDAG products and services.
  • Lead/assist in resolving product related field issues, collections, and other customer
    satisfaction issues as needed.
  • Read and understand construction contracts of varying types and manage DYWIDAG projects
    to meet the contractual terms as required.
  • Prepare cost estimates and quotes as required to support sales and business development
    efforts.
  • Perform due diligence in acquiring material and service pricing to ensure that DYWIDAG
    receives the best possible and most competitive 3rd party pricing.
  • Manage the preparation and submittal of shop drawings, work plans and any other technical
    project requirements.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and update schedules as required.
  • Provide price changes to customer for added materials and revisions to materials already
    ordered.
  • Support financial reporting where required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of Project Manager experience or equivalent field experience required.
  • Knowledge of Anchored Earth Retention, Foundation Construction or Post-Tensioning is an
    asset.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in English – written and spoken.

  • Experience with civil construction, heavy construction, DOT, bridge construction or similar
    construction site experience to be considered for this position.
  • Working experience with NAV or e-vision or similar ERP software or ability to learn ERP software quickly.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel as required to visit customers and project sites as well as company training and meetings.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, laptop use, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 20lbs, on occasion.
  • Ability to climb ladders and navigate uneven terrain on foot.
