Job

Simulation is an integral part of the Guardian Software and Solutions Hub at Emerson. The Lead Engineer role requires strong customer focus, sound judgment, effective communication skills, team management capabilities, and quick learning abilities. The candidate must also be capable of driving projects processes through close communication and coordination.

InthisRole,YourResponsibilitiesWill Be:

  1. Project Execution

  • Administer, generate technical queries and obtain necessary clarifications from the customer,

  • Perform the detailed design and configuration of the OTS projects,

  • Provide Consultancy services for OTS and Alarm Managements,

  • Perform Operations Reviews for pursuits and validate technical solution and effort estimation,

  • Manage technical interfaces with the customer and other external stakeholders as required,

  • Coordinate and manage technical interfaces with subcontractors when applicable,

  • Prepare, review, and ensure the quality of project related design documents and software deliverables,

  • Serve as the technical liaison between internal sub teams, disciplines, and integrated systems,

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute acceptance testing activities, ensuring smooth system handover,

  • Prepare for, participate in, and lead technical discussions during project meetings,

  • Develop and define project standards, guidelines, and best practices,

  • Lead the creation of technical deliverables and associated test procedures,

  • Update and maintain the status of all technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle,

  • Support identification of project risks and contribute to defining appropriate mitigation plans.

  1. Data Collection and Documentation

  • Collect, analyze and document project related data from customers.

  • Support preparation of necessary project documentation.

  • Prepare Efforts estimates and project schedules.

  1. Planning & Team Collaboration

  • Plan, allocate, and monitor tasks necessary for successful project execution.

  • Provide weekly updates on progress, status, and issues to the PM/supervisor.

  • Train and mentor new engineers and conduct team knowledgesharing sessions.

  • Flexibly perform any project activity as instructed by the PM/supervisor.

  1. Continuous Improvement

  • Review and enhance processes and productivity tools based on project objectives, specifications, and feedback.

  • Create improvement requests and review proposed changes.

  • Contribute to improvement initiatives at CoE Pune and lead organizational initiatives/projects as assigned.

  1. Quality Control & Assurance

  • Implementation of CoE quality processes/documentation throughout the project.

  • Adopts to World Area quality requirements and Customer’s regulatory guidelines.

  • Practices and promotes First time right approach.

  • Strictly follows GDP (Good Documentation Practices).

  • Promote continuous improvement in deliverables and workflow quality.

  • Maintain accuracy, correctness, and consistency in documentation and project execution.

  1. Other Duties

  • Perform other additional specific duties, when requested by the business. These will, typically, be strategic in nature but could potentially be anything that the post holder is suitably qualified and experienced to undertake. These duties may be assigned to the person under guidance of a supervisor.

Technical Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, equipment datasheets, and other technical documents.

  • Strong experience with simulation tools such as DeltaV Mimic, Aspen HYSYS Dynamics and Aspen Dynamics.

  • Experience in OTS configuration, delivery, operations, and commissioning.

  • Experience leading simulation projects in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemicals, Metals & Minerals, LNG.

  • Experience in leading Kick-Off Meeting, Acceptance Tests (MAT/MVT, FAT, SAT) and Trainings

  • Ability to lead multiple simulation projects in parallel.

  • Experience integrating process models with control and safety systems.

  • Awareness of ISA Alarm Management Standards, preferred but not mandatory.

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PreferredQualificationsthatSetYou Apart:

  • BE / B. Tech Degree in Chemical or Petrochemical Engineering from a reputed institute.

  • Experience of 8-12 years in Dynamic Process Simulation.

  • Experience in Process Plant Operations will be an added advantage.

  • ISA/EXIDA Alarm Management Training and Certification, preferred but not mandatory.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer relationship capabilities.

  • Ability to manage teams or groups and organize workforce effectively.

  • Motivation to learn and work with cutting-edge technologies.

  • Willingness to adjust working hours for global collaboration.
