OBJECTIVE
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, hands-on Engineering Manager with a strong background in data platform architecture and cybersecurity platforms. The ideal candidate will combine technical leadership with strategic vision to drive platform development, scale secure data systems, and manage high-performing engineering teams. This role is key to strengthening our security posture and enabling scalable, reliable data pipelines that serve internal and customer-facing applications.
Primary Objectives in this Role:
· Lead and mentor the engineering teams building our core data and cybersecurity platforms into world class teams.
· Own architectural decisions and platform strategy for high-availability, high-security systems.
· Foster a strong engineering culture grounded in innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of software and platform engineers working on data infrastructure and security systems.
· Oversee the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable data ingestion, processing, and governance systems.
· Lead the implementation of cybersecurity platforms including threat detection, data encryption, identity and access management, and audit logging systems.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, compliance, and analytics teams to align platform capabilities with business goals.
· Ensure adherence to security and privacy standards
· Drive roadmap planning, sprint execution, and performance evaluations for your team.
· Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resource planning for the engineering group.
· Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements in data and security domains.
· All other duties and projects as assigned.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred but not required, or relevant experience.
· 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
· Demonstrated experience managing or building data platforms (ETL, data lakes, streaming, warehousing).
· Proven expertise in building or integrating cybersecurity systems.
· Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure. Azure preferred.).
· Experience with distributed systems, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
· Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams in a collaborative and ambiguous environment.
· Ability to prioritize, manage multiple initiatives, and deliver quality outcomes on time.
· Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty) are a plus.
· Willingness to pursue additional certifications aligned with team and company goals within the first 12 months.
