GSRP Instructor Job Posting
Title: Instructor for Great Start Readiness Program for Beacon Elementary
Reports To: Building Principal
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree � Early Childhood Development or Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an early childhood specialist (ZA or ZS) endorsement
Preferred Qualification:
- Planning, implementing, and organizing the program in accordance with the Great Start
Readiness State Guidelines
- Using the High Scope components of the daily routine: large and small group, work-time
(Plan-Do-Review), snack, morning message, transitions, clean-up and large motor activities
(Outside time or gym)
- Attend all Professional Learning Communities (PLC), monthly GSP staff meetings, plan daily
with assistant, parent orientation, Meet and Greet, and professional development opportunities sponsored by the WBPA
- Being responsible for the safety and well-being of the children
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Involving assistant in large and small group, work-time (Plan-Do-Review) and all areas of
running the class
- Maintaining up to date health and emergency records for each enrolled student
- Documenting all information pertaining to behavior, development and any interactions with parents
- Preparing and maintaining children's assessment files and progress reports including weekly COR input
- Keeping accurate attendance records of the children
- Participating in parent/teacher conferences twice a year and home visits twice a year
- Planning implementing, and organizing the program and classroom in accordance with
HighScope and or created curriculum
- Planning field trips
- Preparing and sending home weekly newsletters/calendars and notes to parents
- Assisting Supervisor in implementing requirements for licensing
- Other duties as may be assigned
Physical Requirements:
Employee must be capable of performing physical demands of the job, including but not limited to lifting, bending, stooping, squatting and standing for long periods of time. Work environment has a raised noise level.
Terms of Employment
- To begin for the Fall 2026-27 school year
- Full time, 7 hours a day, 37 weeks per year.
- Performance to be evaluated by classroom teacher and building principal.
- Employment is dependent on completion of pre-employment physical and criminal history check. This program and related positions are conditional upon approval of Child Care Program Licensing.
