Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

This role can be based out of either our Sydney or Melbourne campus. Our flagship campus is in Sydney, with a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide too. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you'd be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Partnering closely with our Topline Finance team, staying close to the strategic bets running across Product, Growth and GTM
  • Working with Growth and Product teams to identify and size key strategic bets against revenue and MAU targets during annual planning
  • Translating strategic initiatives and experiment results into financial outcomes that feed our monthly and quarterly revenue forecasting
  • Tracking initiative delivery against forecast and flagging changes in scope, timing or impact as they come up
  • Maintaining a live view of our financial performance against full-year revenue targets, including risks and opportunities tied to key initiatives
  • Monitoring the health of the commercial funnel, spotting shifts early and getting to the bottom of what's driving them
  • Leading deep dives into forecast variance with Finance, digging into what's behind gaps between actuals and forecast, and helping us get better at forecasting over time

You're probably a match if

  • You've got 5-8 years' experience in an analytical role - financial or business analysis, FP&A, data/BI or strategy - ideally with some time in a high-growth tech or startup environment
  • You bring strong analytical and financial modelling skills, and can turn ambiguous strategic initiatives into clear, quantified financial outcomes
  • You communicate with confidence, and can simplify complexity for both Finance and Growth/Product audiences
  • You know how to build trust and influence stakeholders across Finance, Product, Growth and GTM
  • You're comfortable making decisions based on data, with a genuine bias toward rigour
  • You're a self-starter who thrives working independently in a fast-paced, still-forming environment
  • You're genuinely curious about how strategic decisions play out in the numbers

About the team

About Canva

We're a global online visual communications platform on a mission to empower the world to design. Featuring a simple drag-and-drop user interface and a vast range of templates ranging from presentations, documents, websites, social media graphics, posters, apparel to videos, plus a huge library of fonts, stock photography, illustrations, video footage, and audio clips, anyone can take an idea and create something beautiful on Canva on any device, from anywhere in the world.

Since our launch in 2013, we’ve had the crazy big goal of making design accessible to everyone. We were founded on the belief that people shouldn't need to understand complex software to unlock their creativity. We’re leveling the playing field and democratizing access to design and visual communication by empowering 100% of the world to communicate in a way that was once limited to the 1%.

We've always had a deeper mission surrounding Canva — which we talk about as our 'simple' two-step plan: to build one of the world’s most valuable companies, and to do the most good we possibly can. We're committed to our core value of Being a Force for Good, so as the value of our company grows, so too does our ability to have a positive impact on the world.
