Job Description

Growth Practice Lead

Are you a visionary marketing scientist or strategic marketer who believes that sustainable brand growth is driven by empirical laws rather than gut feelings? Do you want to lead a global marketing transformation across some of the world's most iconic brands? As the Growth Practice Lead within our corporate Analytics and Insights for Mars Marketing (AIM) team, you will spearhead the Growth Science practice across the entire Mars enterprise. In this high-profile, global leadership role, you won't just build dashboards—you will design, operate, and scale the end-to-end Mars Growth Flywheel, turning evidence-based science into a core operational process from Snacking to Petcare to Food & Nutrition.

Operating under Mars’ "Innovator" archetype, your mission is to harmonize our marketing capabilities globally—ensuring our approaches are "as aligned as possible, as different as necessary" to balance massive scale benefits with segment-specific nuances. A defining and incredibly exciting focus of this role will be leading the global integration, onboarding, and upskilling of our new marketing associates, ensuring they are seamlessly aligned with the Mars Growth Philosophy. If you are passionate about process engineering, systemic learning cycles, and evidence-driven marketing, this role offers an unparalleled platform to shape the future of a global powerhouse.

What are we looking for?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Data Science, Economics, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
  • Global Marketing & Insights Experience: 8+ years of progressive global experience in Marketing, Brand Management, Marketing Analytics, Consumer Insights, or Marketing Transformation.
  • Empirical Growth Theory Expertise: Expert-level mastery of evidence-based marketing laws, specifically the frameworks of Byron Sharp ( How Brands Grow) and Jenni Romaniuk ( Building Distinctive Brand Assets), with the strategic capability to operationalize concepts like Mental/Physical Availability and Light Buyer acquisition models.
  • Change Management & Collaboration: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a proven track record of leading large-scale change management, organizational design, and navigating highly matrixed global divisions.
  • Process Engineering & Systems Thinking: A demonstrated ability to build, scale, and operationalize end-to-end business workflows that drive technology, tool, and methodology adoption across decentralized, matrixed multi-market teams.
  • Inspirational Communication & EQ: High emotional intelligence with the ability to simplify highly complex marketing science into practical, intuitive guidance for local brand managers and business leaders.
  • Tech & AI Acceleration: Pragmatic mindset with an openness to leverage AI and advanced technologies to accelerate organizational learning velocity.

Nice-to-haves (Non-Essential):

  • Deep experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) / FMCG industry.
  • Hands-on experience with the integration of acquired global brands or teams

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Own & Evolve the Enterprise Operating Model: Align, operate, and continuously evolve the Mars Growth Flywheel that captures evidence, synthesizes learning, and feeds it back into better commercial decisions.
  • Architect the Systematic Learning Cycle: Build and run the end-to-end process that moves learning from data on a page into adoption, impact measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Harmonization over Standardization: Lead the harmonization of growth model scorecards, balancing scale efficiencies with specific divisional nuances across Mars key business segments of Snacking, Petcare, and Food & Nutrition.
  • Build the Enterprise Evidence Base: Create and maintain a living, centralized database of cross-segment Flywheel insights to identify patterns that individual markets cannot see on their own.
  • Accelerate Cross-Divisional Adoption: Work closely with Insights leads in the business segments to embed Growth Science directly into local commercial planning cycles, shifting teams from passive dashboard viewers to active practitioners of the growth process.
  • Develop Scalable Capability Products: Partner with analytical and methodological experts to translate complex marketing science into practical, repeatable products including playbooks, decision frameworks, training, and/or AI-enabled knowledge tools.

What can you expect from Mars?
