About goTenna

goTenna is the world's leading mobile mesh networking company, providing off-grid connectivity solutions for smartphones and other devices, as well as augmenting traditional communications networks. This technology enables mobile, long-range connectivity without cell, Wi-Fi, or satellite connectivity. goTenna's products are currently in use by law enforcement, military, and public safety agencies worldwide. goTenna is a wholly owned subsidiary of Forterra, a leading provider of ground autonomy solutions for the US Department of Defense and other organizations.

About the role:

  • The Growth Advisor at goTenna is a high-intensity, "Force Multiplier" role designed for a high-potential individual looking to accelerate their career in startup operations. You are the connective tissue between the Chief Growth Officer’s vision and the team’s execution.
  • This is a "Residency in Leadership." You will sit in the room where decisions are made, absorb the mental models of the executive team, and be responsible for ensuring that strategic ideas actually cross the finish line.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Vision Translation & Execution

  • Attend all strategic sessions to capture high-level ideas and translate them into project briefs, OKRs, or actionable workstreams for the broader team.
  • Drive internal accountability by ensuring that the CGO’s priorities and projects are completed on time and on schedule. You will follow up on action items with department heads to ensure deadlines are met and the Executive’s priorities stay on track.
  • Proactively manage information flows and drive successful meetings by owning the "Pre-read" and "Post-read." You ensure stakeholders have context before a meeting and receive a "Decisions & Actions" summary in a timely fashion after a meeting.
  • Personally drive execution when needed and appropriate, speaking on behalf of the CGO on internal meetings when the CGO is not available.

2. Strategic Collateral & Communications

  • Drive the creation of high impact communication materials, including Board of Director deck inputs, internal white papers, "All-Hands" presentations, and strategic customer collateral.
  • Draft internal and external communications in the Executive’s voice, ensuring clarity, consistency, and professional polish across Slack, email, and social media.
  • Take messy datasets or chaotic brainstorms and distill them into 3-bullet executive summaries that drive decision-making.

3. Tactical Support

  • Support calendar and time efficiency. Working with the CGO’s Executive Assistant, ensure that the CGO’s time is focused on the most important and urgent priorities.
  • Attend meetings the CGO cannot. Represent their viewpoint, take meticulous notes, and identify friction points before they escalate.
  • Lead early special projects that don't yet have a department—from researching a new market, to exploring a new partnership, or running down an internal bug fix – to support the most urgent business needs and CGO priorities.
  • Be capable of representing the company in any situation and any stakeholder - customers, congressional staff, partners, and more.

Required Experience:

  • 0-2 years of experience in business development or as an executive assistant.
  • High Agency: You don't wait for a checklist; you build it. You thrive in ambiguity and see "I don't know how to do that" as an invitation to learn, not a roadblock.
  • Influence Without Authority: You can nudge a Senior VP for a deliverable with a mix of EQ, charm, and persistence that gets results without bruising egos.
  • Systems Thinker: You don't just solve a problem once; you build a process, so the problem never happens again.
  • High Output, Low Ego: You are equally comfortable perfecting a Board deck for 4 hours or handling "boring" logistics if it means the company wins.
  • The "Smoke Detector": You have the intuition to spot operational bottlenecks or cultural friction before they become crises.
  • Mission Driven: You don’t just want a job, you believe in the company’s purpose. Developing technology that protects warfighters, law enforcement, and public safety operators means more to you than a paycheck.

ITAR: U.S. Citizen or Green Card Required
