Job Description

The Group Treasury Manager will support in defining and executing the Group's treasury strategy, aligned with overall financial objectives. The role will serve as the central authority on global cash, liquidity, funding structures, and financial risk management, with a specific focus on international operations and cross-border treasury activities.

Treasury Risk Management

  • Lead and Oversee the Group's foreign exchange (FX) risk management framework.
  • Develop and implement hedging strategies across multiple currencies.
  • Monitor global market developments and assess their impact on treasury risks.
  • Ensure compliance with hedge accounting requirements and treasury risk policies.

Liquidity & Investment Management

  • Manage global cash positioning and liquidity across domestic and international entities.
  • Oversee multi-currency liquidity structures, cash pooling, and intercompany funding mechanisms.
  • Optimise working capital, cash utilisation, and capital allocation opportunities.
  • Evaluate and approve funding support initiatives, including ESD supplier loans and associate share schemes.

Funding & Capital Structure

  • Develop and manage local and international funding strategies.
  • Evaluate capital structures and funding requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, and financial institutions.
  • Monitor covenant compliance and funding obligations.

Governance & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain treasury policies, controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with treasury-related regulations, exchange control requirements, and transfer pricing considerations.
  • Partner with Legal, Tax, and Compliance teams on cross-border transactions.
  • Drive Treasury Management System (TMS) optimisation and enhancements.

Working Capital & Cash Flow Management

  • Manage liquidity to meet operational, investment, and debt obligations.
  • Provide oversight of cash management and supply chain finance programmes.
  • Coordinate cash forecasting and repatriation activities.
  • Deliver recommendations on liquidity requirements and bank facilities.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with regional finance teams on treasury matters and strategic projects.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integrations.
  • Build strong relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and key business stakeholders.
  • Provide expert treasury advice across the Group.

Leadership & Reporting

  • Lead and develop a high-performing treasury team.
  • Deliver consolidated treasury reporting and actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Drive treasury performance through the monitoring of key performance indicators.

Registered CA(SA).
5 - 10 years' relevant treasury, corporate finance, or financial management experience.
Proven experience managing liquidity, funding, financial risk, and treasury operations in a complex business environment.
Strong understanding of international treasury practices, banking structures, and financial markets.
