The Opportunity

We're looking for a Tax Manager to join our dynamic tax team of six professionals based in the Netherlands and South Africa. This position is based in the Netherlands and offers opportunities for occasional travel, providing a global perspective and exposure to diverse challenges. You'll work hand-in-hand with Finance, AI, Treasury, Legal, and other teams in our flat organization where hierarchy takes a backseat to innovation and results. AI and Automation are part of our DNA and strongly embedded in the tax organisation.

Who You Are

You're a tax professional and not afraid to challenge the status quo. Whether you have a background in VAT, Transfer Pricing, Corporate Income Tax or as a (tax compliance) generalist, you're eager to broaden your expertise and challenge traditional approaches to tax management. You thrive in unstructured environments where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to innovate. While you don’t need to be a tech expert, you have the skills to identify automation and innovative opportunities, lead and manage projects effectively, leveraging the expertise of others to drive success.

What You Bring

• 5-6 years of tax experience (Generalist, VAT, TP, CIT backgrounds welcome).
• A strong passion for innovation - you thrive on challenging the status quo and finding creative solutions.
• Enthusiasm for diverse tax work: Combine compliance and advisory tasks across VAT, CIT, DSTs, International tax, withholding taxes, and more, with curiosity about foreign tax systems.
• Open-minded and adaptable approach to tackling diverse tax challenges being comfortable with changes.
• Ability to manage and run projects by collaborating with the right stakeholders.
• Collaborative spirit - Excel in cross-team environments and foster teamwork.
• Growth mindset - eager to expand beyond traditional tax boundaries and embrace new opportunities.
• Problem-solving orientation: You see challenges as opportunities.

Your Typical Day

• Start the day with a coffee from our in-house barista while catching up with the team.
• Attend a meeting with one of the businesses to share your tax input on a deck with strategic expansion options of that business.
• Dive into a project on VAT automation, collaborating with the tax team, finance team in NL and SA and with the dedicated AI specialists in the finance function.
• Work with legal on steps for a legal simplification in the Dutch corporate structure and align this with the South African tax team.
• Call with the advisor who is preparing the Dutch CIT return, to discuss last outstanding items and liaising with the right internal stakeholders.
• Answer a question raised by the treasury team about the funding of a new investment.
• End the day by brainstorming process improvements that didn’t exist yesterday.
