Job Description

  • Develop, lead and maintain the tax design of corporate structure taking into consideration the strategy set out by the Head of Tax and risk assessment of operational jurisdictions.
  • Analyze and deliver solutions for global tax developments (such as ATAD, MDR and BEPS)
  • End-to-end tax management of assessable risk or uncertain tax positions (strategy & structuring, accounting & reporting, compliance, controversy & dispute resolution, transfer pricing, control framework)
  • Lead the (outsourced) tax compliance cycle for Principal and FinCo
  • Handle and supervise of the global tax position including tax accounting, compliance, year-end audit.
  • Risk assessment and control of all taxes including tax provisioning.
  • Lead tax audits and tax litigation, including negotiations with local tax authorities.
  • Handling market entry and exit positions in terms of tax optimization of strategies relating to financing, thin capitalization, repatriation in a foreign exchange currency-controlled environment, treaty access and economic substance.
  • Develop, implement and maintain tax reporting tools, tax repository and tax digitalization tools
  • Work with internal team to ensure accuracy of tax forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning strategies.
  • Ensure effective use of external advisers (quality and cost).

There are three areas of strategic work that will require planning and advice to various internal partners:

  • Corporate Restructuring
  • Business Partnering
  • Corporate Finance

Skills/Competencies:

  • University degree in tax law or fiscal economics
  • Minimum of 6 -8 years relevant work experience in an international tax
  • In-depth knowledge of corporation and international tax law and transactional tax concepts and its practical applications
  • In-house tax department experience and/or M&A tax practice is a pre-requisite.
  • Experience in providing & explaining tax mentorship to non-tax professionals.
  • Good understanding of accounting concepts and processes
  • Commercial awareness and customer orientation with a very pro-active approach
  • Strong Communication (verbal and written skills, proficient in business English)
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills including how to access & collect relevant data from systems and use them for the delivery of solutions.
  • Consistent track record in leading, advising and coordinating projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to work in multi-project mode in fast-paced environment
  • IT skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT
  • Professional management of employee relationships at all levels.
