Job Description

As Group Risk Specialist Support Operations Team, you provide direct assistance to risk directors and managers Group Risk Management in identifying, assessing, and controlling risks. You act as a risk consultant, trainer, advisor and risk sparring partner, delivering practical risk control solutions and contribute to fostering a strong risk awareness within CSC. This role forms an integral part of the Group Risk Management Operations Team and reports to the Group Risk Manager of Support Operations Team.

Some of the things you will be doing

Consultancy & Business Support

  • Advise directors and managers Risk Management, on optimizing risk management processes and on practical use of policies, frameworks and regulations.
  • Support teams in identifying and mitigating material (business) risks and improvement of risk reporting.
  • Business consultancy to solve major temporary risk challenges from preventing risks, executing risk reduction plans to major risk projects.
  • Assist with risk assessments and reporting to risk managers and local management.
  • Support the Global and Local Risk Oversight Committees
  • Facilitate root cause analysis, trend analysis and develop recommendations following risk incidents.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk reduction plans.
  • Support assessment of new business initiatives and re-evaluating existing activities from a risk management perspective.

Process & Framework development

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and improvement of risk policies and procedures, risk appetite, Risk Monitoring Plans and reporting.
  • Set up and manage tools (such as GRC tooling and Incident Management) to support risk control within CSC.

Initiatives & Projects

  • Actively participate in (and/or lead) risk management projects and improvement initiatives, including risk culture & maturity programs, board effectiveness reviews, third party risk management, GRC platform implementation projects.

Technical skills, experience, and qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a regulated financial institution
  • Critical, inventive, decisive and analytical. Possesses perseverance.
  • Strong team player with the business and other colleagues from shared service.
  • Good understanding of the services provided, potential risks and mitigants
  • Customer and result driven. Strong understanding of business drivers and commerciality.
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate well at all levels of the organization. Solid negotiation skills with the willingness and ability to adapt influencing styles and approaches as needed.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent command of English in word and writing required.
  • Being able to work in a planned and systematic way.
