As our Group Risk & Internal Control Manager, youoperateat the heart of our globalorganisation,reporting totheDirectorRisk Management andInternal Auditandworking closely withtheGroup Internal Audit Managerandkey stakeholders across regions, business areas, and group functions.
Thisisnota “steady-state”roleYouwillplay a key role in buildingandmaturingourriskandinternalcontrolcapabilities,shiftingtowardsproactive,embeddedrisk managementpracticesthatenable andsupport business performance.
You act as a trusted second-line sparring partnerto the business, guidingstakeholdersinidentifying, managing, and mitigatingBDRThermeaGroup’s keyrisks
You will collaborate with a global network of local risk & control representatives (our “SPOC community”) and use modern tools and methodologies to bring consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement to our governance practices.
This is a hybrid role based in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands We value flexibility and collaboration: you are encouraged to spend at least two days per week in the office, while enjoying support for your home office setup and travel. In this role, you can expect to travelup to10-20% of your time to local operating companies.
Act as a second-line advisor and challenger, overseeing the end-to-end risk management cycle across theorganisation, including conducting risk assessments,identifyingvulnerabilities, and proposing mitigation strategies to senior management.
Coordinate with local Risk & Internal Control representatives to ensure consistency and adoption of frameworks and the GRC tool across theorganisation
Oversee and support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal control frameworks across regions, business areas, development units, and support functions.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and internal controls,providingactionable insights to senior management.
Oversee and support policy management activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Enable the business by providing tools, training, and best practices to strengthen risk awareness and foster a strongcontrolculture.
Minimum of5–7+ years of experience in risk management, internal control, or audit in an international corporate or consultancy environment
Strong understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) and regulatory complianceacross functions.
Experience working in international, cross-functional environments with diverse stakeholders
Ability to translate complex topics into clear insights and actions for stakeholders at all levels
A proactive, hands-on mindset: you spot opportunities, take ownership, and drive improvements
ABachelor'sorMaster’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, ora relatedfield

Professional certifications such as CPA, CISA,CIAor CRMA
