Responsible for overseeing the Group’s financial reporting to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, with a strong focus on statutory consolidation reporting.

The role supports accurate, timely, and reliable data delivery to stakeholders to enable informed decision-making and strategic control. It involves reporting and analysis to drive business insights, supporting data-driven initiatives, and automating and optimizing reports for improved performance and usability.

The position also includes providing technical accounting guidance, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, collaborating with external auditors and third parties, and continuously identifying and implementing process improvements within the Group Reporting function.

What you’ll do

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

Group Consolidation & Financial Reporting

  • Preparation of the Group financial statements, including preparation and review of note disclosures for the Annual Report and interim and year-end results announcements.

  • Preparation of consolidation entries in compliance with IFRS and SEC regulations.

  • Act as the key point of contact for Group Reporting deliverables and stakeholder management across business units.

  • Ensuring that Group Financial Reporting processes operate effectively and that defined timescales are adhered to.

  • Conducting comprehensive analytical reviews at the consolidated level to interpret financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Developing financial reports with conclusions that management can use to implement more effective operational strategies.

Technical Accounting & Compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements (i.e.IFRS, SEC).

  • Monitoring developments in accounting standards and requirements from regulators.

  • Implementing new accounting and regulatory requirements, and ensuring compliance.

  • Preparation and compliance of Group accounting policies.

Systems Monitoring and Controls

  • Perform SOX controls within the consolidation process to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate financial risks.

  • Develop and maintain financial reporting systems and processes.

  • Provide on-going review of effectiveness of all reporting solutions.

  • Review all users’ access rights to financial reporting systems to ensure alignment to roles and responsibilities.

  • Assist with monitoring and approving dimension mapping and amendment requests inline with reporting requirements.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Collaborate with various business units to gather data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in consolidation.

  • Analysing data to understand data quality issues and propose risk mitigation solutions.

  • Act as the key point of contact across business units for Group Reporting deliverables (data intake, validation, and sign-off).

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Drive process improvements in the consolidation, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and automation.

  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvements for the consolidation processes and optimizing related tools for greater efficiency.

  • Document reporting processes and methodologies.

Projects, Stakeholder Management & Enablement

  • Act as a key Group Reporting resource on Finance projects as required, applying IFRS and Group policies with strong project management skills.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects to support data-driven decision making.

  • Provide training and support to team members on reporting tools and processes.

  • Stakeholder management across business units for deliverables and timelines.

What you’ll bring
You’re someone who brings:

  • Chartered accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualification experience

  • A strong understanding of the consolidation processes, including intercompany eliminations, and the application of consolidation standards is crucial

  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements and reports

  • Experience with reporting, consolidation systems and Microsoft Excel for financial modelling

  • Familiarity with SOX Compliance, or compliance within a listed environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise accounting memos and reports

  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving shared goals

  • Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations

Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:

  • Hands-on experience with business and financial software preferred. MS Dynamics Nav/Business Central, FloQast, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1/Cognos) and Workiva are a plus.
