Job Description

Please Note - This is a 6 month FTC position

Every week, millions of customers rely on Argos to find the products they want, know they are available, place orders seamlessly and receive them when and where they need them. Behind every order is a complex set of technology capabilities that manage inventory availability, orchestrate orders, and enable delivery to be planned and executed efficiently.

In this area of our business, we build and evolve the products that power these critical capabilities across Argos and Habitat delivery. From inventory management and availability through to order management, routing, small item delivery, large item two-person delivery and final-mile fulfilment, our technology enables great customer experiences while supporting efficient operations at scale.

Reporting to the Head of Product, the Group Product Manager will be accountable for defining the vision, strategy and outcomes across a portfolio of products within the Order Management & Fulfilment domain. You’ll lead and develop a team of Senior Product Managers, helping them set clear direction for their products while aligning their work to a coherent, long-term view of the domain.

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Architecture and operational stakeholders, balancing customer, colleague, technology and commercial needs. You’ll use data and insight to shape priorities, make informed investment decisions, and deliver measurable value for customers and the business.

More about the role

  • You’ll set and communicate the product vision and strategy across Order Management & Fulfilment, ensuring priorities align to our wider business and technology strategy.
  • You’ll lead, coach and develop a team of Senior Product Managers, supporting their growth in product craft and helping them deliver against shared outcomes.
  • You’ll develop roadmaps and prioritized backlogs across a portfolio of products, with clear goals, measures and associated benefit and investment cases.
  • You’ll be accountable for end-to-end product outcomes across inventory management and availability, order management, delivery and transport systems, including supplier direct fulfilment and marketplace order management.
  • You’ll work closely with Engineering and Architecture to deliver scalable, resilient and secure technology products, arbitrating conflicting priorities and influencing across teams.
  • You’ll partner with operational and business teams to understand problems, identify opportunities, and turn complex operational needs into effective product solutions.
  • You’ll use customer, colleague, operational, and commercial data to inform prioritization, measure product performance, and evaluate whether expected value has been delivered.
  • You’ll collaborate across Product, Technology and third-party partners to deliver joined-up end-to-end experiences.
  • You’ll support the communication and resolution of live product incidents, ensuring operational risks and production issues are prioritized, coordinated, and communicated effectively.
  • You’ll contribute to the longer-term technology strategy for the domain, championing simplicity, and future readiness.

What we’re looking for

  • You have significant Product Management experience, with a track record of owning complex digital, platform or operational products and translating business goals into clear product strategies and roadmaps.
  • You operate comfortably between strategic vision and delivery detail, and can bring clarity and direction in complex or ambiguous environments.
  • You have experience leading, coaching or line managing Product Managers, helping individuals develop their product craft, set clear goals and prioritize work against value.
  • You balance customer, colleague, technology, operational and commercial needs to make clear decisions and unite cross-functional teams around shared outcomes.
  • You understand agile product development and modern engineering practices, and have experience working directly with engineers, architects, and other delivery partners to build and evolve technology products.
  • You are data driven, using evidence, product metrics, and insight to shape decisions, challenge assumptions, and measure whether outcomes have been achieved.
  • You are a strong influencer who can adapt your communication style and build alignment across senior stakeholders, operational teams, Product and Technology.
  • You anticipate risks and opportunities, respond to escalations at pace, and help your teams find effective solutions.
  • Experience of order management, inventory management, and fulfilment would be beneficial, whether gained from a product or operational perspective, but it is not essential.
  • Experience in retail, ecommerce, or another high-volume transactional environment would also be advantageous.
  • You are curious about new technology, AI and evolving product practices and actively support your teams in adopting approaches that improve outcomes.

In return you’ll get

  • Colleague discount
  • Holiday allowance
  • Bonus scheme
  • Pension plan
  • Special offers on gym memberships, restaurants, holidays, retail vouchers and more
