Overview

Group PMO Director

Location: Remote working arrangement (based in a European country where Morgan Advanced Materials operates) Morgan Advanced Materials is a global materials science and engineering business with around 8,000 employees across more than 30 countries. They design and manufacture advanced materials that solve complex challenges across industries including healthcare, energy, transport, electronics, defence and industrial manufacturing. This role sits at the centre of some of the company's most important strategic initiatives. It's not about maintaining project plans from the side-lines. You'll help drive major business, operational, technology and transformation projects, making sure the right people stay aligned, risks are managed early, and delivery remains on track. If you've led complex programmes across multiple functions, countries and stakeholder groups, and you're comfortable bringing structure to ambiguity, this could be worth a conversation.

The Role

As Group PMO Director, you'll oversee a portfolio of strategic projects that support the organisation's growth, transformation and operational performance. You'll work closely with senior leaders, project teams and external partners to ensure projects deliver the outcomes they're supposed to, not just tick boxes. You'll be the person connecting the dots across multiple initiatives, managing dependencies, highlighting risks before they become problems, and providing the governance and visibility needed to keep things moving.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate a portfolio of strategic business and transformation projects
• Manage project interdependencies across global functions and business units
• Establish and maintain project governance, reporting frameworks and controls
• Provide clear updates to executive stakeholders on progress, risks and priorities
• Directly manage selected high-profile projects where additional leadership is required
• Coach and support project leaders to improve delivery outcomes
• Track budgets, forecasts and benefits realisation across key initiatives
• Work with Finance and business sponsors to ensure projects remain aligned to approved business cases
• Facilitate decision-making and help remove obstacles to delivery
• Drive continuous improvement in project management standards, tools and ways of working

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

• Significant experience leading complex, multi-workstream programmes within a multinational organisation
• A track record of delivering strategic projects across areas such as transformation, operations, M&A, technology, innovation or capital investment
• Experience managing project portfolios involving multiple stakeholders, functions and geographies
• Strong programme governance and project delivery expertise
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior leadership level
• Financial awareness and experience managing budgets, forecasts and benefits tracking
• Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, industrial or technology-led businesses
• A collaborative and pragmatic approach
• The confidence to challenge constructively when needed
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to remain effective when priorities shift
• Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent would be advantageous
