A look into the role
As Shunter you will:
• Shunt vehicles around the yard to designated areas
• Lorry maintenance to include vehicle hygiene plus daily water/oil/fuel checks
• Cage control and accountability
• Manual handling, specifically pushing, pulling and lifting heavy loads
• Work as part of the loading team in the absence of shunting duties.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Shunter the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
• Hold a valid Cat C+E License
• Possess a valid, in date Driver Qualification Card (CPC up to date)
• Strong demonstrable awareness of health and safety- particularly in a busy transport yard.
It is Desirable if you had:
• Previous experience within a similar role
• A good knowledge of vehicle refrigeration
• A good knowledge of tail lift operation
• Good attention to detail

Hours of Work
This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week. Working hours are likely to be Sunday to Thursday 4pm until midnight, job to finish. As the warehouse is a 24-hour operation, flexibility will be required in terms of working hours.
Job to Finish- This means that while shifts have a planned start and finish time, colleagues are expected to remain at work until the day's workload has been completed and customer orders are ready for dispatch.
