The Opportunity

Lead Impact Where It Matters Most — As Group Manager, Project Management, you will lead a multidisciplinary team across the Prairies & North Region, delivering complex, high‑value projects across the Earth & Environment disciplines. This role combines senior project leadership, strong financial oversight, and people leadership to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery while advancing WSP’s business objectives. This position sits within the Regional Support team, partnering closely with technical, regulatory, and operational groups to deliver integrated solutions for public and private sector clients.

Your Impact

  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of Project Management and Project Control professionals, fostering collaboration across the entire Prairies and North sector of Earth & Environment.
  • Provide senior project management oversight for complex projects, ensuring excellence in scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality.
  • Champion strong project controls practices, including forecasting, cost tracking, earned value, and change management.
  • Drive financial performance through budgeting, revenue forecasting, margin management, and portfolio‑level financial reviews.
  • Build, mentor, and retain high‑performing teams, supporting career development and succession planning.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver trusted, outcome‑focused environmental solutions.
  • Apply enterprise systems such as Oracle, Horizon to enable disciplined delivery, reporting, and decision‑making.
  • Contribute to business planning, resourcing strategies, and continuous improvement within the Project Management team.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • University degree in a related field (Engineering, Technology, Science, Project Management, Business, Finance).

  • Minimum 10 - 15 years of progressive project management experiencein consulting engineering or related earth and environment disciplines

  • A formal certification in Project Management such as Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams particularly projects in geotechnical, water resources, environmental impact or environmental assessment.

  • Self-starter, highly organized and solutions-oriented with ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong managerial and leadership skills, business and customer service orientation are essential.

  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills are required as are the ability to identify, recommend and implement cost effective efficiencies to improve overall performance.

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading teams, performance management, and talent development.
  • Strong financial acumen with hands‑on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio financial management.
  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as Oracle, Horizon, or equivalent project and financial platforms.
  • Ability to balance technical excellence, demanding schedules, and commercial outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and language skills.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $115,700 – $155,400
MB & ON: $105,500 – $147,400
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $104,500 – $140,700
