About this opportunity
Group Privacy & Data Legal Affairs & Compliance partners with the Group Data Office and business stakeholders to provide legal advice on data and to develop and maintain Ericsson’s global Privacy Framework.
We are now looking for an experienced lawyer who will focus on interpreting and operationalizing data and privacy regulations globally, across multiple jurisdictions and on behalf of a multinational organization. Your work will help enable compliant, trustworthy and innovative use of data and AI within Ericsson’s services and operations.
What you will do
You will be part of Group Privacy & Data Legal Affairs, working closely with the Data & AI Office, Privacy Advisors, Legal Counsels, Security Managers, Product and Solution units, and Government and Industry Relations.
Your main responsibilities include:
• Acting as a subject matter expert on complex privacy and data topics and translating relevant regulations and industry standards into internal policies, guidance, tools, best practices and metrics within our Privacy Framework.
• Supporting stakeholders by developing templates, standards, working tools and training to build awareness of privacy, data and digitalization-related regulations, including the AI Act, Data Act and other data and AI regulations.
• Providing legal advice on privacy, information security and related data matters for cross-functional projects, products and solutions, new business opportunities and other initiatives, to ensure that privacy and data management requirements are adequately implemented across Ericsson.
• Advising on topics such as data analytics, cloud, IoT, SaaS and other technologies, and identifying relevant emerging issues and trends.
• Providing updates to management, security, compliance and other stakeholders regarding new and updated legal and regulatory requirements in the areas of privacy, data and digitalization.
• Contributing to the strategic direction of the privacy program by gathering business and compliance input and assessing outcomes.
The skills you bring
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a business lawyer, including at least 4 years with a primary focus on privacy and data.
• Experience applying privacy and data regulations across multiple jurisdictions and advising a multinational company or supporting a global business (not limited to a single market or jurisdiction).
• Experience with privacy and data-related regulations, preferably in the telecom industry, and a strong interest in global privacy and data management programs.
• International experience.
• Strong ability to independently handle and manage legal matters, and to prioritize among multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, communication and networking skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external counterparts.
• Independent, goal-oriented and systematic way of working, combined with being a collaborative and driven team player who can initiate and drive change.
• Strong knowledge and interest in emerging technologies, including AI and data-driven solutions.
• Good business understanding.
• Fluent in English; an additional language is an advantage.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
