Yaskawa is currently seeking a Group Leader, Repair to coordinate day-to-day routine operations of non-exempt employees, leverage electronic expertise to assist with complex technical problems on a broad product line to the component level and contributes to the overall training and support level of the Repair Department. Duties reflect substantial variety and complexity: analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex technical problems on a broad product line to the component level using high-level technical skills; assign and check the work of lower level employees; orient, train, and give work direction within assigned Repair area; prepares diagnostic quotations and estimates on repairs based on established Policies / Procedures; initiates requests for repair supplies and materials; and may service or calibrate departmental electronic test equipment. Contributes to the overall training and support level of the Repair Department.

of Duties:

  • Schedules workload with SAP Master Scheduler focusing on weekly schedule and field work.
  • Report schedule updates and completions to Master Scheduler and Supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Provides technical assistants for Technicians, including help in troubleshooting, resolves most questions and problems, etc.
  • Monitors technician’s daily activities reporting company policies violation to Supervisor.
  • Lead by example as well as supervise cleanliness activities in assigned repair areas.
  • Completes scheduled repairs or put into parts hold / information hold by following established Repair and SAP Procedures.
  • Analyze which parts are needed by performing a quote; clean, repair, and test the parts and determining cost effectives to repair or scrap.
  • Provide reports about completed exchange rushes to requested parties via e-mail.
  • Write a detailed memo in the service order describing the work performed; parts replaced, tests performed.
  • Design and build the necessary test fixtures to fully test defective parts in a more efficient manner.
  • Maintain all test fixtures and test units such as motors, drives, and PC Boards as needed and delivers to shipping or return to stock.
  • Assist or provide product training to Repair Technicians.
  • Performs modifications and ECO changes to parts and equipment as required for good customer support.
  • Detects and/or initialize design changes or errors in defective assemblies and document such findings appropriately.
  • Assists in maintaining the Repair parts inventory & support supplies.
  • Follow department policies pertaining to safety and dress code.
  • Participates in all company sponsored activities, including suggestion program, quality and product training, etc.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • BS or Associate degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Min 8+ years experience in electronic / electro-mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with high power circuits preferred.
  • Ability to read and use schematics and wiring diagrams. PC literate. SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to speak, write and read English.
  • Physical certification by company appointed doctor, able to lift up to 40 lbs.
