The Role

Cedar is improving the healthcare financial experience. Our technology improves the overall patient billing and engagement experience, enabling healthcare providers to thrive in a constantly evolving environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care.

Cedar is looking for a Group Lead Product Manager to lead our Patient Data Platform team. Cedar's next generation of products, including agentic workflows, operator tools, and standalone billing experiences, all depend on a unified, reliable, and extensible data foundation. As the product lead, you will co-own that foundation: the normalized data model, transformation pipelines, integration standards, and data exchange patterns that turn raw data feeds into clean, trustworthy patient accounting records that power Cedar's product portfolio.

This is one of the most impactful and technically challenging roles at Cedar. You bring deep expertise in how health systems generate and exchange clinical and financial data: data feeds, real-time integrations, HL7 messages from EHR systems like Epic, athena, and Cerner, and will apply that knowledge to shape how downstream products and AI-powered agents consume that data to drive patient and operator experiences. Your end-to-end perspective across people, process, and technology will set the course for how Cedar integrates complex and sensitive health system data at scale. You and your team will ensure that Cedar's products and agents have reliable, cross-system access to accurate, up-to-date, and secure information, enabling the next generation of intelligent healthcare financial workflows.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership: Own the Patient Data Platform from strategy through execution. Help identify gaps in Cedar's data capabilities, define solutions, and drive delivery alongside engineering and integrations. Engage directly with clients and EHR partners to understand upstream data workflows and translate them into platform requirements.
• Internal + external influence: Work internally across Cedar's product engineering, integrations, payments, and communications teams and externally with Cedar's clients and EHR partners to drive integration standards that support multi-product, multi-provider scale.
• Product definition: Define and evolve Cedar's normalized data across providers in terms of how clinical and financial entities are represented, linked, and made available to product consumers and agentic workflows. Drive data governance standards including data quality tracking, lineage, and contract definitions that give downstream teams confidence in the data they consume.
• Roadmapping & Prioritization: Own the multi-quarter roadmap for the Patient Data Platform, sequencing foundational investments (integration patterns, cross-system identity, data infrastructure) against provider onboarding timelines and product launch dependencies. Make the tradeoff calls between long-term platform bets and near-term delivery commitments.
• Partnership with technical leadership: Co-own data and architecture decisions with Cedar's senior technical leaders, including data architects, engineering leads, and delivery-side integration experts. Translate product requirements into technical constraints and vice versa, ensuring alignment between product vision and technical feasibility.
• Data governance and quality: Establish data quality frameworks that ensure reliable, accurate data SLAs for go-lives.
• Metrics and impact measurement: Define and track platform health and adoption metrics, including SLAs for data accuracy and freshness, integration onboarding velocity, and incident reduction tied to data quality improvements. Use data to inform prioritization and demonstrate platform ROI.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of experience in product management, co-founder, or related technical role
• At least 3 years of experience building and shipping technical products that manage data pipelines, data models, or integration platforms
• Experience working with senior stakeholders at large enterprises
• Track record of shipping products that deliver measurable results — ideally platform products that unblock multiple downstream product teams
• Strong knowledge of data exchanges and integration patterns for major EHR players (e.g., Epic, athena, Cerner)

Bonus Qualifications

• Technical background (CS degree, former engineer, or deep comfort reading system design docs and data model ERDs)
• Healthcare RCM knowledge - understanding of guarantors, patient responsibility, insurance adjudication, EOBs, and the billing lifecycle
• Experience establishing data governance frameworks and driving alignment across engineering, operations, and client stakeholders
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, gRPC) and how data flows through ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience leading platform migrations — moving product functionality from legacy systems to modern service-oriented architectures while maintaining production reliability
• Familiarity with HIPAA data isolation requirements in multi-tenant healthcare platforms

Compensation Range and Benefits

• Salary Range: $204,000-$240,000
• This role is also equity eligible
