Job Description

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for all daily lead duties for the maintenance team. This includes assigning work, monitoring progress, enforcing PPE and safety, directing and redirecting employees, and serving as a backup for the supervisor in the event of their absence. The team lead will also be the system expert on the equipment in the assigned area. As a Maintenance Lead, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.

1st Shift Schedule. You may be required to work overtime and respond to after-hours call-ins

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:

  • Assisting technicians with complex diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair across multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fabrication) while ensuring compliance with OSHA and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Overseeing and performing the preventive maintenance program for the facilities.
  • Review work orders, prioritize and direct personnel for task and emergency maintenance
  • Maintaining and repairing maintenance shop equipment.
  • Maintaining computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics and ladder logic to perform required maintenance.
  • Train new maintenance team members
  • Assist supervisor with monitoring and correcting the maintenance team regarding safety, quality, policies and attendance

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Degree and/or certification in related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience (required)
  • 1+ years of leadership experience preferred (required)
  • Strong electrical, mechanical experience and PLC troubleshooting
  • Experience with machining and foundry equipment.
  • Working knowledge of TPM, root cause analysis, predictive and preventative maintenance systems, and visual plant concepts.
  • Ability to lead and train maintenance technicians
  • Capable of holding tier 1 meeting as needed
  • Must maintain a good working relationship with other departments
