What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make your impact
You'll provide independent assurance that helps Weir manage risk, strengthen controls and improve business performance across a global organisation. This role offers exposure to a wide range of business processes, functions and locations, working with stakeholders across finance, operations, supply chain and commercial teams. Daily activities involve evaluating internal controls and preparing well-structured working papers. Success means delivering audits on time with high-quality documentation and actionable findings. Travel internationally up to 30% may be required.

  • Audit Planning & Support: Support audit planning activities by gathering background information, reviewing prior audit results, performing preliminary risk assessments, and preparing testing and sampling approaches.

  • Follow-Up & Issue Tracking: Monitor and verify the implementation of agreed management actions, reviewing evidence to assess whether risks have been appropriately addressed and recommendations effectively closed.

  • Business Engagement & Collaboration: Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Weir's global operations to understand processes, gather evidence and support efficient audit delivery.

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll bring
Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field with 2–5 years of internal or external audit experience.

  • A naturally curious mindset with a desire to understand how processes work and the confidence to ask thoughtful questions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand processes, evaluate controls, and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly and professionally.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to agreed deadlines.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.

  • Exposure to operational or IT audits.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

  • Part-qualified or studying towards professional certifications like CIA, ACCA, or CA.
