Join LIFE, Inc. - New Bern as a dedicated Group Home Worker (Full Time) in Newport, NC. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support and supervision to clients in a residential setting, promoting their independence and well-being. You will be instrumental in assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and facilitating their participation in community and day program activities. This position offers a competitive wage of $17.50 per hour, paid bi-weekly, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those you serve.

Shift

• 2nd Shift Full Time (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and supervision to clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and toileting, promoting dignity and comfort.
• Support clients during meals, encouraging the use of family-style dining to enhance social interaction.
• Assist clients with housekeeping duties, including clothing care, cleaning, and yard maintenance, fostering a clean and safe living environment.
• Help clients prepare meals and nutritional supplements, adhering to prescribed dietary guidelines.
• Administer prescribed medications accurately and monitor clients to prevent errors.
• Implement prescribed diet plans and ensure proper use of adaptive equipment to meet individual client needs.
• Follow all established behavior programs, conduct data collection, and adhere to safety protocols rigorously.
• Support clients’ active treatment plans by assisting with training objectives, documenting progress, and helping to achieve service goals.
• Collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary team, communicating relevant client information to supervisors as needed.
• Transport and supervise clients during outings and appointments using company vehicles.
• Assist clients in community outings and support their participation in school and day program activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission and operations of the home.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
