Job Description

Job Location: CARC - Lake City, FL 32025ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Nurture a congenial, homelike atmosphere for all residents assigned to the group home.
Assist in running daily group home programs as assigned by Group Home Supervisor or Services Manager.
Communicate to all staff the reinforcers due a resident or participant.
Record program data.
Report progress and need for changes to Group Home Supervisor.
Advocate client first mentality, client choice, and client rights at all times.
Assist in providing training in data collection and program implementation.
Responsible for creation of monthly activity calendar implementation.
Ensure proper storage, dispensing, handling, and record keeping for medications.
Provide prompt and appropriate attention to residents'/participants' medical conditions that require monitoring.
Maintain the confidentiality of all residential information.
Supervise Residential Specialists in completion of assigned shift duties.
Participate in In-Service Training.
Complete paperwork and reports to ensure productive communication between the shifts and the Group Home Supervisor and Services Manager.
Supervise the planning and preparation of nutritious meals in the group home.
Assist in ensuring monthly (unannounced) fire evacuation drills at the group home and document appropriately.
Promote compliance with Association rules and regulations.  Work toward a consistent team approach with Association staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents weighing up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance or adaptive equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and assist residents throughout assigned shifts.
- Ability to respond quickly during emergencies.
- Ability to operate agency vehicles when required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Residential group home environment operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- May require evenings, weekends, holidays, on-call responsibilities, and emergency coverage.
- Exposure to behavioral challenges, bodily fluids, and various community settings

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly assists in supervising:
Residential Specialists
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
Relief Staff
Assigned Residential Personnel
Responsible for monitoring staff compliance, performance expectations, training requirements, and service delivery standards.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current CPR certification; valid State of FL driver's license with safe driving record.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus one year experience with Residential Habilitation acquisition program(s) or experience transferring, lifting, bathing, dressing, toileting, and training individuals with disabilities (may substitute behavior management training with persons with developmental disabilities).
