Develop and implement comprehensive direct tax strategies aligned with the company’s business goals and regulatory frameworks. - Oversee end-to-end management of all direct tax matters including income tax, corporate tax, transfer pricing, and other statutory compliances. - Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing tax team ensuring continuous knowledge upgradation and performance excellence. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as legal, finance, and business units to structure tax-efficient transactions and business models. - Manage relationships with external tax consultants, auditors, and statutory authorities, ensuring proactive communication and resolution of tax-related issues. - Conduct regular tax risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to safeguard the company from potential tax liabilities and penalties. - Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the tax function to enhance efficiency and accuracy. - Stay abreast of changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, and provide timely guidance to the business on implications and compliance. - Represent the company before tax authorities, tribunals, and appellate bodies during tax assessments, appeals, and dispute resolution processes. - Ensure timely and accurate filing of all direct tax returns, reports, and disclosures to maintain full compliance. - Provide strategic inputs during mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities, evaluating tax impacts and opportunities. - Champion ethical practices and transparency in all tax-related dealings, reinforcing Adani’s commitment to integrity and corporate responsibility. - Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within the tax team, encouraging collaboration and professional development. - Prepare and present tax reports and insights to senior management and the board, supporting informed decision-making.
Experience- 20+ years of extensive experience in direct taxation within the finance industry. - Proven track record of managing large-scale tax operations and leading diverse teams. - Demonstrated expertise in handling tax audits, assessments, and litigation. - Experience working with multinational corporations and complex group structures. Educational Qualification- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory. - Additional qualifications such as a Master’s degree in Finance, Taxation, or Law will be an advantage. Certification Required- Certified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI. - Additional certifications in Taxation or Finance such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are preferred. Non-Negotiable Skills- Expert knowledge of Indian Direct Taxation laws and compliance. - Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. - Proven ability to develop and execute effective tax strategies.
