Main Objective:
The Group Exercise Instructor & Greeter works under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator to promote the mission through a variety of methods including designing and presenting group exercise classes/programs to meet the health needs of clients, overseeing the enrollment and check-in process as well as merchandise sales and inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teach scheduled group fitness classes, beginning and ending on time. Provide proper group exercise instruction appropriate for class being instructed. Provide adequate warm-up and cool down. Offer modifications during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness and physical abilities.
2. Design new classes and programs and implement effectively.
3. Manage class registration process to record attendance.
4. Maintain a current knowledge of industry developments and propose programming, as appropriate, to best serve our clients.
5. Monitor facility to ensure that all individuals comply with the appropriate check in procedures.
6. Provide excellent customer service by acknowledging clients upon entry and exit. Greet visitors in professional, courteous manner to create a welcoming atmosphere.
7. Assist with locker room issues such as opening locked lockers, etiquette enforcement, refilling supplies and placing work orders.
8. Answer telephones and provide information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
9. Provide facility tours to prospective members and guests.
10. Conduct equipment orientations for clients.
11. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility. Report unsafe conditions and equipment/facilities in need of repair to management.
12. Attain and maintain a thorough working knowledge of each piece of exercise equipment and provide one-on-one instruction on proper use to ensure client safety.
13. Understand and enforce Arthrex Wellness Center policies and procedures with clients using excellent customer service skills.
14. Listen to client concerns, suggestions and complaints. Ensure a prompt and professional response to ensure a positive wellness experience. Escalate to management when appropriate.
15. Ability to cross-train to assist with other facility operations including fitness floor and wellness food/beverage services.
16. Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members subbing whenever possible and assisting with special events as needed.
17. Recognize, respond effectively and document incidents and emergencies.
18. Oversee all recreational court schedules, reservations and access.
19. Schedule all client appointments, provide client reminders and contact appropriate staff upon client arrival.
20. Monitor Wellness marketing material used both internally and externally.
21. Operate office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, copiers, and phones, and use computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications.
22. Assists staff with quality improvement initiatives. Assist department with implementation, coordination and completion of special projects. Assist with training of new staff.
23. Organize and assist with sports and recreation services, including tournaments, events, and team-building. Duties include set up, event logistics, facilitation, and tear down.

Education and Experience:
· High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· 1 year experience in group fitness class instruction required
· 1 nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification required. Multiple certifications strongly preferred.
· Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills with a positive, outgoing nature.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Knowledge in wellness and fitness.
CPR certification
Ability to communicate well with others and manage multiple programs to ensure continuity of care for the client.
