Sun Prairie Group Fitness Instructor

Under the supervision of the Fitness Coordinator, the Group Fitness Instructor will provide safe, and motivating instruction with an emphasis on member engagement. This will be done in accordance with the mission, and general operating policies and procedures of the YMCA of Dane County, Inc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of fitness program development, conditioning principles, and exercise physiology.
• Requires ability to professionally and effectively communicate with members, staff and supervisors; maintain confidentiality and exchange accurate information.
• Requires ability to effectively interact with, lead, and motivate members who have a variety of abilities and needs.
• Specialty certification and/or two years experience related to classes being taught is preferred.
• Flexibility in scheduling is preferred.
• Nationally Accredited Group Exercise Certification or YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles and YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise within 6 months of hire.
