Renishaw plc is looking for a Group Financial Planning Manager to join our Group Finance team, reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Reporting. This important role will manage planning, budgeting and forecasting across our global FTSE 250 business, translating risks and opportunities into clear financial projections and driving better insight, decision-making and performance. The role provides opportunities to shape the Group’s planning capability, lead systems and process improvements, and develop toward broader finance leadership roles, and offers broad exposure to senior leadership and Group strategy in a global listed business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Group’s end-to-end financial planning process, setting clear timetables, assumptions and standards, and co-ordinating timely, high-quality inputs from commercial finance, businesses and functions globally.
  • Produce consolidated reporting of near-term and long-term profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow forecasts, reviewing and challenging component submissions, identifying key business drivers and providing clear analysis and insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain the Group’s going concern and viability models, working with business risk owners to translate scenarios, mitigating actions and emerging risks into robust financial outcomes.
  • Provide high-quality forecast information to Group Treasury for liquidity and foreign-exchange management and to Group Tax for tax payment and forecasting requirements.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, identify recurring bias and work with finance teams across the Group to improve planning discipline, accountability and insight.
  • Develop and maintain effective, controlled and user-friendly budgeting, forecasting and planning systems, models and tools.
  • Support the evolution of business performance management, ensuring planning outputs align with management reporting, strategic priorities and decision-making requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with regional, subsidiary and functional finance teams, providing guidance, constructive challenge and practical support.
  • Contribute to wider Group Finance transformation, systems and process improvement initiatives.

Key requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in financial planning and forecasting.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to interpret performance drivers, challenge assumptions and turn financial data into clear, actionable insight.
  • Strong modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and sound judgement.
  • Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders and coordinate contributors across functions, businesses and geographies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs during demanding planning cycles.
  • Very strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI, and enterprise planning systems.

Desirable requirements

  • Experience of building and consolidating integrated profit and loss, balance-sheet and cash-flow forecasts in a large, complex organisation.
  • Experience in a listed, international manufacturing, engineering or technology group.
  • Experience of going-concern, viability, scenario-planning or stress-testing processes.
  • Experience of improving or implementing enterprise planning, consolidation or reporting systems.
  • Experience working with treasury, tax, risk and operational teams across multiple jurisdictions.

Person specification

  • A clear and structured thinker who combines analytical rigour with commercial awareness.
  • Collaborative and credible, with the confidence to challenge constructively and build productive relationships.
  • Highly organised, resilient and comfortable managing competing priorities.
  • Curious and improvement-focused, with a practical approach to systems, controls and process design.
  • Committed to accuracy, integrity and consistently high standards of delivery.
