Group Director of Commercial Growth & Pricing

Role Overview

The Group Director of Commercial Growth & Pricing is the executive responsible for driving revenue expansion, pricing strategy, and commercial performance across Vesta’s portfolio companies. This leader will define and operationalise the commercial playbook for the group, bringing sophistication, consistency, and scalability to pricing, customer expansion, and revenue optimisation.

The Group Director of Commercial Growth & Pricing owns the commercial engine room — ensuring that every Vesta business maximises revenue, margin, and organic growth through world-class commercial discipline.

This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, embedding commercial excellence in newly acquired companies and building a data-driven culture of pricing optimisation, upselling, and customer value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Growth Leadership

• Build and lead the group-wide Commercial Growth function, developing a high-performing team capable of supporting multiple business units.
• Define commercial growth frameworks covering customer segmentation, value-based selling, upsell/cross-sell design, and account expansion strategies.
• Partner with portfolio leaders to identify organic revenue opportunities and turn them into executable, measurable growth programs.
• Introduce commercial performance dashboards, playbooks, and benchmarks used consistently across the group.

Pricing Strategy & Execution

• Own the group’s pricing strategy, ensuring pricing models are modern, data-driven, and aligned to value creation.
• Lead the strategic pricing reviews for all acquisitions and core businesses, identifying margin opportunities and pricing improvements.
• Develop dynamic pricing models, discount frameworks, and monetisation strategies that improve profitability.
• Embed pricing governance to ensure consistency across contracts and markets

Portfolio Support & Commercial Excellence

• Conduct commercial health checks for each business to assess pricing maturity, sales process, packaging, and product-market fit.
• Deploy targeted interventions where businesses are under-performing commercially.
• Support leaders with strategic bids, contract renewals, competitive positioning, and customer value propositions.
• Facilitate commercial training, best-practice sharing, and capability uplift across the portfolio.

Data, Insights & Performance Measurement

• Implement commercial analytics, including CAC, LTV, price-realisation, churn, retention, and cohort analysis.
• Establish KPIs and reporting that allow the Group CEO and board to track commercial progress across all units.
• Ensure decisions are based on robust data, market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven senior leadership experience in commercial strategy, revenue optimisation, or pricing leadership, ideally in multi-business or private-equity environments.
• Demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing commercial or pricing teams.
• Strong background in pricing science, margin management, and value-based pricing methodologies.
• Highly analytical with strong financial understanding.
• Ability to influence at executive level and work effectively across multiple business cultures.
• Experience in software, technology, or services organisations preferred
