Executive Leadership Role

Location: Melbourne

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Executive team as Group Director, Identity & Mission You will play a defining leadership role in ensuring our mission is not only preserved, but actively lived — influencing how we lead, how we care, and how we make decisions across the organisation. You will influence the heart of the organisation and influence the future of Catholic healthcare in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mission integration and formation across the organisation, embedding Cabrini’s values and ethic of care in strategy, culture, and care delivery

  • Partner with the CEO, Board, and Executive to strengthen organisational identity and reinforce ethical integrity

  • Support considered discernment and ethical decision‑making in organisational and clinical contexts

  • Represent Cabrini within the broader Catholic community

  • Ensure accessible, high-quality pastoral, spiritual and bereavement support for patients, clients, families, and staff of all faiths and no faith

What we are looking for:

You are a mission‑mindful, relational, and strategic leader who brings depth of experience in Catholic health, social services, education, or a related ministry. You combine theological understanding with contemporary organisational leadership.

You will bring:

  • Senior leadership experience in mission, identity, ethics, and formation

  • Strong capability in organisational culture, change leadership, and stakeholder engagement

  • Commitment to the principles of Catholic social teaching and the healing ministry of Jesus

  • Excellent communication, personal and facilitation skills

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in theology, ethics, leadership, or a related field

Cabrini is owned and operated by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who came to Australia in 1948 to take over the management of a 45-bed community hospital named St Benedict’s. Cabrini now has more than 800 beds and a comprehensive range of health services. There are acute facilities at Malvern and Brighton. The Cabrini Institute supports education and research, in order to continually improve the quality of care and educate tomorrow’s health professionals. Cabrini Technology provides an innovative, independent information and healthcare technology service to organisations throughout Australasia and has headquarters in Mount Waverley. More recently, Cabrini has established an Asylum Seeker and Refugee Health Hub in Brunswick, which provides access to a range of health services for people seeking asylum and newly arrived refugees.
