Job Description

Led by Rodolphe Saadé, the CMA CGM Group, a global leader in shipping and logistics, serves more than 420 ports around the world on five continents. With its subsidiary CEVA Logistics, a world leader in logistics, and its air freight division CMA CGM AIR CARGO, the CMA CGM Group is continually innovating to offer its customers a complete and increasingly efficient range of new shipping, land, air and logistics solutions.

Committed to the energy transition in shipping, and a pioneer in the use of alternative fuels, the CMA CGM Group has set a target to become Net Zero Carbon by 2050.

Through the CMA CGM Foundation, the Group acts in humanitarian crises that require an emergency response by mobilizing the Group’s shipping and logistics expertise to bring humanitarian supplies around the world.

Present in 160 countries through its network of more than 400 offices and 750 warehouses, the Group employs more than 155,000 people worldwide, including 4,000 in Marseilles where its head office is located.

YOUR ROLE

No less than 90% of world trade is carried by sea. Every day, the CMA CGM Group transports vast quantities of goods across more than 200 shipping routes, financing major assets — vessels, containers, aircraft — to support its global ambitions.

Embedded within the Group Finance Department, you join a team dedicated to structuring and implementing all of the Group's bank financing, in France and internationally. Within a team of five people and a work-study student, you play a cross-functional role and contribute to the Group's financial roadmap. A high-value experience in a demanding and stimulating environment, with real career prospects.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

As a work-study student within the Finance Department, your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in the financing of the Group's strategic assets (vessels, containers, aircraft), port terminals (project finance), and corporate financing needs (acquisitions, RCF, etc.)
  • Interacting with a wide range of financial partners (banks, funds, international export credit agencies) as well as operational teams and support functions (legal, accounting, tax) across the Group
  • Conducting financial analyses: modelling, return calculations (IRR, NPV), financing cost comparisons, and support for investment decision-making
  • Contributing to the deployment of tools and processes within the Department, and participating in cross-functional projects as opportunities arise

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Master's degree (Bac+5) from a Grande École (HEC, leading business school) or engineering school with a corporate finance specialisation
  • Ideally a first experience in banking, consulting or advisory
  • Strong financial knowledge, including modelling, financial statement analysis, and valuation and financial analysis methods
  • Solid Excel skills (financial modelling, return calculations)
  • Fluent professional English — advanced level required, both written and spoken

Profile:

  • Curious and open-minded — genuine appetite for technical and complex topics
  • Proactive and reliable — able to develop autonomy progressively with the team's support
  • Strong interpersonal skills — comfortable engaging with a wide range of expert stakeholders
