DHL is seeking a Group Coordinator Lead - Digital Print Technician to oversee daily production within our new customization operation supporting a major consumer-products brand. This is a hands-on technical lead role combining team coordination with the operation of UV flatbed printers and CO2 / fiber laser engraving equipment.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 years' experience in digital printing, industrial print production, or manufacturing and possesses the ability to lead a production team and be a thoughtful problem solver.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday: 5:00am - 3:30pm
Pay: $22.35 / hour
What You'll Do:
Lead and coordinate daily production activities for a team including assignments, coaching, training, and shift handoffs:
- Operate and prepare UV flatbed printers, including material loading, alignment, preventative checks, and quality inspections.
- Operate CO2 and fiber laser engraving and laser etching equipment, setting machine parameters based on product requirements.
- Prepare and inspect products while monitoring quality and consistency.
- Read work orders, technical specifications, and production requirements to ensure jobs are completed accurately.
- Partner with internal departments to resolve technical and workflow issues.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and consumable replacement.
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
- A high school diploma.
- At least 1 year of hands-on print production, digital printing, or related experience
- Experience leading a team in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Experience operating industrial printing equipment, UV flatbed printing, laser engraving/etching, or similar production equipment.
- Knowledge of UV ink systems, color calibration, RIP (Raster Image Processor) software, and print profiles.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to read and follow technical specifications and work instructions.

Group Coordinator Lead –; Digital Print Technician
Role Purpose:
The Group Coord Lead-Digital Print Technician directs the day-to-day operations of the Custom area, coordinating people, workflow, and equipment across UV flatbed printing and laser engraving/etching to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. The role blends hands-on technical operation (printer/laser setup, calibration, and inspection) with front-line leadership (work assignment, training, quality gatekeeping, communication, and continuous improvement). Technical scope includes preparing substrates, verifying surface flatness, running high-throw UV print jobs, operating CO2/fiber lasers, and enforcing quality and safety standards throughout the cell.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead daily huddles; assign labor to printer, laser, prep, and inspection stations; balance workload to hit schedule and takt.
- Serve as first escalation point for safety, quality, and equipment issues; decide to pause/continue and rework paths within authority.
- Coach and mentor Operators I & II; deliver on-the-job training; verify competency against SOPs; reinforce 5S in the area.
- Coordinate with Design/Engineering/Production to resolve file/spec issues and improve flow; communicate status to stakeholders. (Internal collaboration with design, engineering, and production teams is explicitly required.)
- Oversee product preparation (degutting/unboxing, counts, staging) and surface cleaning using alcohol; confirm top-surface suitability prior to processing.
- Gatekeep substrate flatness and condition before queueing jobs to UV print or laser stations.
- Run CO2/fiber-based laser engraving/etching equipment; load, position, and secure materials; set speed/power/frequency/resolution per product requirements.
- Read work orders and technical specs; monitor production runs and report defects or malfunctions promptly.
- Inspect substrates for flatness, surface condition, and dimensions using precision tools (calipers, straightedges, thickness gauges).
- Apply adhesion promoter per procedure prior to UV print; verify treated products meet standards before entering print workflow.
- Perform in-process and final inspections for accuracy, clarity, alignment, and appearance; approve first-article/samples before full runs.
- Conduct nozzle checks, cleaning cycles, and alignment; monitor for clogging/misfires; escalate to maintenance/technical support as needed
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance; replace consumables (wipers, filters, inks) and inspect mechanical parts; troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/software issues to minimize downtime.
- Enforce PPE and laser/UV safety protocols; maintain an organized, hazard-free area compliant with safety guidelines; perform and document safety checks.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience leading people in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Experience with industrial printers, UV flatbed printers, CO2/fiber-based laser engraving/etching equipment or related production equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read technical specifications.
