About the role

Are you looking to work with a growing multinational, fast paced organisation? If so, then this could be the opportunity for you. We are looking for a Group Compliance Officer, based in our Dublin office (hybrid), who will act in the capacity of the second line of defence for the Monument Re Group. The role will support the Head of Group Compliance in providing support and guidance to our regional compliance colleagues and business operations.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with the Head of Compliance and Group Compliance Managers, support the oversight of the Group’s compliance framework ensuring it is sufficient to fully meet relevant legislation / regulations in the countries in which we operate and to oversee the effective operation of the same;
  • Act as a point of contact for Monument’s regional Compliance functions, businesses and Group functions for compliance related queries;
  • Support on the development, maintenance and promotion of the Group Compliance policies;
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of the Group Compliance team’s risk maps on the Group’s Governance, Risk and Compliance tool;
  • Help ensure the Group Compliance team remains in step with international best practice by monitoring and keeping abreast of anticipated developments in new regulation, industry practice, rules and requirements;
  • Assist Monument’s businesses in the identification, and provide support when necessary on the resolution, of regulatory incidents and breaches;
  • Assist with the execution of the Group Compliance team’s assurance plan;
  • Provide support on the timely and accurate reporting to the Monument Executive and Group Board and Board Committees;
  • Be responsible for the management of the Group’s computer based training platform including being the point of contact with our training platform provider;
  • Provide Group Compliance support to any Group’s projects and initiatives;
  • Be responsible for maintaining the Group Compliance SharePoint site; and
  • Undertake additional activities as directed by Compliance Management.

Role Requirements

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum three years’ compliance experience within multi-jurisdictional environment, preferably with knowledge of life and pensions and reinsurance. Experience in the investments field would also be an advantage;
  • Experience of acquisition due diligence an advantage;
  • Demonstrable understanding of regulatory principles and practices, and compliance framework best practice;
  • Experience of promoting a compliance culture and awareness within an organisation;
  • Ability to keep abreast of regulatory change and understanding and interpreting regulatory requirements;
  • Experience in a Group role supporting / coaching colleagues in all aspects of compliance;
  • Familiarity with governance, risk and compliance systems;
  • Strong understanding of, and ability to, identify regulatory risks to the Group as part of both business as usual and project work; and
  • Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, experience with AI would be an advantage.



PERSON REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills (both verbal and written) and proven experience collaborating with colleagues at all levels in a business and preferably across different jurisdictions;
  • Excellent work ethic with good planning and organisation skills, and able to manage multiple priorities;
  • Team player but with the ability to also work autonomously;
  • Self-starter, flexible with an enthusiastic approach;
  • Objective, analytical and lateral thinking individual with an eye for detail; and
  • Committed to maintaining high levels of integrity and ethical conduct.
