Position Summary

The Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall management of the Group to deliver sustainable growth, maximise shareholder value, and ensure strong corporate governance.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Group CEO will lead the development and execution of the Group's long-term strategy while driving superior financial performance, operational excellence, capital allocation, and market competitiveness. The incumbent will be accountable for increasing enterprise value through revenue growth, profitability expansion, EBITDA improvement, market capitalisation enhancement, and sustained shareholder returns.

The role requires an accomplished business leader with strong commercial, financial, capital markets, and transformational leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Group's long-term corporate strategy aligned with shareholder expectations.

  • Identify new growth opportunities through market expansion, diversification, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.

  • Lead business transformation initiatives to improve competitiveness and long-term sustainability.

  • Position the Group as a market leader within its industry.

2. Financial Performance & Shareholder Value Creation

  • Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and cash flow generation.

  • Deliver continuous improvement in:

  • Revenue

  • EBITDA

  • EBIT

  • Net Profit

  • Return on Equity (ROE)

  • Return on Invested Capital (ROIC)

  • Optimise capital allocation and investment decisions.

  • Improve operating margins and productivity across the Group.

  • Develop initiatives to enhance market capitalisation and shareholder returns.

  • Drive earnings growth and improve valuation multiples.

3. Capital Markets & Investor Relations

  • Serve as the primary representative of the Group to shareholders, investors, analysts, regulators and the investment community.

  • Develop strategies to enhance investor confidence and market perception.

  • Lead quarterly earnings presentations and investor engagements.

  • Communicate the Group's long-term value creation strategy effectively.

  • Drive initiatives that positively influence share price performance through strong execution and transparent communication.

4. Operational Leadership

  • Oversee the overall performance of all business units and subsidiaries.

  • Ensure operational efficiency and effective execution of corporate objectives.

  • Monitor business performance against strategic and financial targets.

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organisation.

  • Establish clear accountability throughout the leadership team.

5. Business Growth & Corporate Development

  • Identify mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investments.

  • Evaluate new business opportunities and diversification initiatives.

  • Lead post-merger integration where applicable.

  • Develop sustainable long-term growth platforms.

6. Financial Stewardship

  • Ensure disciplined financial management and strong balance sheet performance.

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and capital expenditure planning.

  • Optimise capital structure and funding strategies.

  • Manage liquidity, risk and cash flow effectively.

  • Ensure prudent investment decisions that maximise shareholder value.

7. Corporate Governance & Risk Management

  • Foster a culture of strong governance, ethics and compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and all relevant regulatory obligations.

  • Strengthen enterprise risk management frameworks.

  • Maintain robust internal controls and accountability mechanisms.

8. Leadership & Organisation Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing Executive Leadership Team.

  • Develop succession plans for key leadership positions.

  • Foster a performance-driven and accountable organisational culture.

  • Drive talent development and leadership capability across the Group.

9. Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with:

  • Board of Directors

  • Institutional investors

  • Government agencies

  • Regulators

  • Customers

  • Business partners

  • Financial institutions

  • Media

  • Represent the Group in industry forums and public engagements.


Requirements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline.

  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.

  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, CFA or ACCA would be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 20 years of progressive leadership experience.

  • At least 10 years in a CEO, Managing Director, Group COO, Group CFO or equivalent executive leadership role.

  • Proven leadership experience within a publicly listed company or large multinational organisation.

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering sustained financial growth and shareholder value.

  • Experience engaging with Boards, institutional investors and capital markets.

  • Successful track record in business transformation, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives.
