The Opportunity

Our Group Procurement function is leading a significant transformation to create enterprise-wide capability, unlock value at scale and strengthen how we partner across the business. This is an exciting opportunity to join that journey and help shape the future of procurement at BlueScope

As Group Category Manager – Corporate Services, you will lead the development and execution of category strategies across a diverse enterprise portfolio valued at approximately AUD $400M. This portfolio spans professional and business services including travel, HR, legal, marketing, consulting, fleet and financial services.

The role will be instrumental in transforming a fragmented spend landscape into a disciplined enterprise category model that delivers value, governance, service quality and demand management outcomes. You will work closely with procurement, commercial and functional leaders to establish preferred supplier frameworks, optimise commercial models and drive consistent procurement practices across the organisation.

This role can be based in Port Kembla, Sydney (Mascot) or Melbourne (CBD)

The Role

The role will be instrumental in transforming a fragmented spend landscape into a disciplined enterprise category model that delivers value, governance, service quality and demand management outcomes. You will work closely with procurement, commercial and functional leaders to establish preferred supplier frameworks, optimise commercial models and drive consistent procurement practices across the organisation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide Corporate Services category strategies.
  • Lead sourcing programs, supplier panel optimisation and contract frameworks.
  • Drive demand management, compliance and procurement governance.
  • Establish supplier relationship management practices for key strategic suppliers.
  • Build category analytics, benchmarking and value delivery disciplines.
  • Define governance structures, decision rights and operating model interfaces.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing category management team.

Qualifications

About You

You are an experienced procurement leader with a strong background in indirect procurement, services categories or enterprise sourcing. You have successfully partnered with senior business leaders to deliver commercial outcomes, governance improvements and sustainable value across complex organisations.

You will bring:

  • Experience leading indirect or services category portfolios.
  • Strong commercial, sourcing and negotiation capability.
  • Experience managing complex and fragmented supplier ecosystems.
  • Ability to influence executives and stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • A track record of delivering measurable procurement and business outcomes through governance, sourcing and demand management.
