Groundwater Supervisor

Position: Groundwater Supervisor

Location: Hampshire Region

Job Type: permanent, full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours

Salary: upto £20 per hour depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • To be primary contact with our client, Southern Water, Operations and Flow Management.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of groundwater projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with operational requirements.
  • Oversee site setup activities, logistics, resource allocation, and technical documentation to ensure projects are completed to programme.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between operational teams and the Flow Management team, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout project delivery
  • Liaise with clients, customers, local authorities, stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ensure all stakeholder notifications, permits, traffic management requirements, and local council obligations are completed and adhered to.
  • Manage tanker operations associated with groundwater projects, ensuring vehicles and crews follow the agreed routes, traffic management plans, and site-specific playbooks.
  • Monitor individual jobs to ensure compliance with agreed methodologies, project specifications, environmental controls, and client requirements.
  • Supervise site activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS, method statements, quality standards, and health and safety procedures.
  • Monitor project progress, workforce productivity, quality standards, and compliance requirements, PPE escalating issues where necessary.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies, client standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Support incident & Damage investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies, sharing best practices, and implementing lessons learned across groundwater operations.
  • Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and customer service are maintained at all times.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience supervising groundwater, drainage, wastewater, utilities projects.
  • Strong understanding of operational planning, tanker logistics, traffic management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of RAMS, risk assessments, permit systems, and health and safety legislation.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients, customers, councils, and operational teams.
  • Proficient in preparing reports, analysing data, and maintaining project documentation.

You must have a full UK drivers licence.
