🌿 About the Role

We're looking for a motivated Garden Labourer / Grounds Person to join our team in a full-time, permanent role, maintaining the grounds of a prestigious school in Toowoomba. This hands-on position involves a mix of turf and garden maintenance, helping to keep the school's outdoor spaces looking their best year-round.

🛠️ Responsibilities

• Carry out a variety of turf and garden maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, hedging, weeding, pruning, planting and mulching.
• Maintain high-quality lawns, garden beds and landscaped areas across the school grounds.
• Safely operate hand-held equipment including hedge trimmers, blowers and whipper snippers, as well as petrol-powered equipment such as push mowers and ride-on machinery.
• Load and unload plants, materials and equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment, including the care of tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture across the team.

👤 About You

You have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and take pride in maintaining outdoor spaces to a high standard. Previous experience in grounds maintenance, turf management, gardening, landscaping or a related industry will be highly regarded, but a willingness to learn is just as important.

This role is physically demanding, so you'll need to be comfortable lifting and carrying materials, bending, kneeling, squatting and standing for extended periods while working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

You'll also bring:

• A willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A commitment to working safely and producing quality work.
• A current driver's licence.
• A White Card and Working with Children Check, or the willingness to obtain them.
