WAGE: $15.68

DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation

PERSONNEL STATUS: Seasonal

BENEFITS: None

IMPORTANT NOTE:

This position is a seasonal position. Seasonal positions work up to 40 hours per week for up to 6 months, no benefits.

Under the general supervision of the Building Service Worker, responsible for care and maintenance of landscaping throughout the grounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Operate mowers, weed eaters, trucks, tractors and other equipment.

Use hand tools and some small power tools.

Fix sprinklers and water pipes. Weed and maintain flowerbeds.

Performs a variety of general custodial functions such as emptying trash, picking up litter, cleaning windows, sweeping and cleaning restrooms and other areas.

Performs other duties in connections with the operation of the facility.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Experience: Some experience in operation of mowers, weed eaters and other equipment and knowledge in landscaping.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):

Knowledge of: Considerable knowledge of hand tools and mower usage. Minor engine repair work.

Skills and Abilities to: Ability to maintain service records of equipment. Ability to repair sprinkling systems. Ability to perform work requiring light, medium, and occasionally heavy physical effort. Ability to follow direction and work well with others.

YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess or be able to possess a valid Utah Driver's License and have a good driving record.

Must be adaptable to changing work hours as shift hours may be varied.

Working days may include weekends and holidays.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.
